The Scout and other car roof-portable folding wings ultralights

If budget (more time then money) is you need - Super Goat is a great way to go. I started out in PPG for exact reason your looking for and that is mobility. I wanted something I could take in my camper. In the end, foot launching did not suit me. When I started to investigate a trike for my...

    Designing an Ultralight

Found a new overview vid of the Hummel by HUD Pilot. Found it interesting that if you add the canopy and front wheel, it falls out of P103 in the US. Might of considered this myself if I didn't like pusher designs more. Safe Landings

Why battery-powered aircraft will never have significant range

"with theoretical energy densities several times that of currently available lithium ion batteries" Why is it still theoretical? They either have or have not proven it -- does it still need to be peered reviewed? Potential to hold up to! Need to improve cycle life! I think they have a long long...

Jon Croke builds Afford A Plane videos

I am subscribed and have watched some -- not the plane I am looking to build but lots of great info. Has anyone converted to a pusher with foldable wings? Cheers

Why battery-powered aircraft will never have significant range

Wow -- what a great debatable topic this has turned into. Lots of passion on both sides. I recently just started thinking about it again. I was just ground testing my Simonini 202 getting ready for my 1st solo. As I watched it shack the sh!t out of itself during ideal, apparently its normal...

What could be done to reinvent the Affordaplane to a more homogeneous project?

Well - if in a critical function I would say pray! I have had to order some during my mods I am doing to my trike - rotated my engine and had to extend frame upwards to maintain same thrust point. So I put them where I think it is critical like keeping wing and engine frame attached to the...

    Carburetor Swivel cable Stops

Ended up using the business end of a 1/8 rivet. I used an aluminum one but will switch out for steel. Have to get a another smaller cable stop.

    Carburetor Swivel cable Stops

My Simonini is new to me - very little gas engine experience at all. Has a version of Walbro carb on it. I was working on getting ready to install a foot throttle and found that the throttle cable can fall out!!!! This swivel has the cable insertion slot and needs some type of barreled cable...

    Part 103 build...

How many car accidents have you seen, do you still get in a car? Far more people dying or injured in car accidents than aircraft per capita. I am far more worried about my drive to my flight training than the training itself. As Tiger Tim says "wisdom of the operator". I would add that only...

What could be done to reinvent the Affordaplane to a more homogeneous project?

The craft design is not my cup of tea. However, opposition to using rivets does not make sense to me -- good high shear rivets in the right application is not a problem. The issue is knowing where they can be used. Cheers
