    plzzzzz share experence about DLE 170M power umbrella engine

    I have no experience with this particular engine model. I do have with the DLE 50cc RC engine. They're pretty good quality and reliable. I would think that it would be as good an engine as any other on a paraplane. Back pack style I'm guessing.

    Troubleshoot - Rotax C gearbox on a 582

    If by chance it does not have a clutch, about the only thing that could slip would be the pinion gear on the crankshaft snout loose. Not much else possible without being broken. My guess is a clutch.

    James has always been pretty up front if something works or not. He is not afraid to innovate and if it fails, he'll tell you. Only thing I see, IMO, is appearance of the latest creations. Just a different taste in design shape.

    Personally IMHO the plane looks thrown together to make the show untested. I do wish James well in flight testing and refining the aircraft. The construction is interesting and I've followed it from the beginning. New isn't necessarily better though.

    It sux that they purposely make them not user friendly to a gear reduction unit. Could be done, and if I had one in my possession...............

    Just an observation and it might not make any difference, but what about your carb angle? Maybe flip flop the intake for the inverted engine? Rotax intakes are angled some for that reason as well.
