Aircraft has no transponder or mode C, will this make me compliant?

Yea I have a stratus mini that I plug into this little battery so not super concerned about that. But it good to know that kit will work for an aircraft that doesn't have mode c or s and no adsb equipment. If anybody know of a cheaper kit that would be awesome, but I guess for now I'll use that...

Aircraft has no transponder or mode C, will this make me compliant?

So I've been looking at purchasing lots of different aircraft, many don't have a transponder or adsb out, unfortunately I live under the mode C veil and surrounded by class B, If I were to purchase an aircraft that did not have a transponder or adsb would this kit be enough to make me compliant...

Airplane Wanted WTB a good time builder

Funny your mention that. I used to be the tower manager at WHP :) And I don't have a preference between certified or EAB, just something that can get me and a small daughter around socal for for little fuel flow. And I def want something flying, no project for me, especially as I'm sure I'd...

Airplane Wanted WTB a good time builder

Hi guys, I've been searching for a good little inexpensive to acquire and operate time builder (3.5/4 gph) to just fly around and take my daughter on trips. Was looking at planes like Pulsars, & Sonex's since they seem to fit the mission of building time with little money. I prefer a trigear...

My next big project since used JT15D's are starting to look "reasonably" priced.

Yea swampy, your correct on the symbol nomenclature, its been a little while :) But most of the work I did on the initial concept are changing. The costs/size/complexity were ballooning a little out of control so I'm going back to the drawing board so to speak. In the meantime I've just been...

Thanks for that link pictsidhe, that is a pretty nifty piece of software, how accurate would you say it is? I suppose the calculations are based off of known data points.

Was the 450hp not enough power for the fan or did the T-58s benefits out weigh the cons of the 20B? Also how do you calculate the power needed to spin a given fan at certain rpms/altitudes/airspeeds been trying to find the answer to that one for a couple days. Just want to made some baseline...

My next big project since used JT15D's are starting to look "reasonably" priced.

Well I have spent a couple weeks going through the rest of the Conceptual design. It's far enough along that I wanted to show it to a couple engineers I know and they confirmed what I was seeing too. Weight/size/complexity were ballooning a bit out of control. So.... yea its a little beyond what...

    NACA 66-021 and 16-018....

I believe this design used the NACA 66-018 for its airfoil http://www.geversaircraft.com/

My next big project since used JT15D's are starting to look "reasonably" priced.

Ahh thank you, I thought as much as well, but I was under the guidance that leading edge slats would help with smoothing turbulent airflow at lower speeds as long as the alpha isn't too high. Do you have any suggestions as to where I can learn more about that? Great material for me to go over...

I dont understand.... a pirate? But yea, If by the time I'm finished with the conceptual design if it still looks like its within the realm of possibility I'll be handing it to a professional to tune it.

No I'm not expecting financing. Its a RPF to myself. To establish mission objectives to guide the conceptual design process. And yes 3500 hours on the airframe/engine. By Operational life it doesn't mean not expecting to replace anything until that time. Its means the airframe will remain...

I think you must be mistaking it with a different engine, the SFC is around 0.562 lb/(lbf·h) or a little higher at max depending on model, and a little better at cruise. Thrust isn't that high, 2100lbs-3000lbs or thereabouts, depending on model. Anyways, little update, I've finished the...

    Homebuilt Control Tower

Finally something I can speak with a little bit of authority on! In the US at least if you believe you will be hosting an event that will be busy and or complex enough to pose a significant risk to the NAS you should contact your local FSDO or speak to the ATM of the facility that the...
