    Perfect Rivets

I am not sure age hardening is myth or not. If the rivet manufacturer artificially ages the rivets it should not “age harden” any further. It would be difficult to get “new” rivets, since “natural”aging can be as short as 4 days.

    Inherent, quiet?

I back off on power long before entering the pattern. I want reduced noise and a tighter pattern to match slower traffic. The Cherokee manual suggests “Instructional Power Cruise Speed” of 60% power at sea level.

    Perfect Rivets

It always seemed to me there was a particular resonant frequency where the bucking bar was bouncing back inward in sync with the rivet gun. At other times the bucking bar was just vibrating with the gun and not doing much.

What do you think about "e-soaring"?

Seattle Museum of flight has a YO-3. https://www.museumofflight.org/exhibits-and-events/aircraft/lockheed-yo-3a-quiet-star

    Perfect Rivets

What would happen if I made a rivet set for the gun same weight as the bucking bar?

    Perfect Rivets

Use softer rivets. Of course, you need to be a designer to calculate the larger size rivet needed.

    Puzzling out my electrical system

These lithium jump starters work great for cold. Even the $50 one will start a diesel truck. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=car+engine+jump+starter&crid=38SDO0TK9JZWQ&sprefix=Engine+jump%2Caps%2C231&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_7_11

Scale sandwich composite Honda jet build condensed to 14 minutes

Where does he buy 1/16” or 1/8” honeycomb core? And approximate cost?

Green hydrogen, fireproofing envelopes, and aerostatic lift for long-range/duration VTOL operations

4% to 75%. No worse than acetylene. But hydrogen escapes upward in a properly vented system, so arguably safer than most fuels, used outdoors.

Scale sandwich composite Honda jet build condensed to 14 minutes

I wonder what he used for skin and core?

EAA - For better or worse

I asked David Oord (at EAA back then) for a copy of the standards, but it was refused.

    DA11?

Right. The clean DA-11 should glide ok with a 140 pound pilot prepared for engine failure any time. But it is always 300 pounders that drool over these tiny planes.😉
  17. BBerson

    DA11?

The span loading should predict glide ratio. 375 divided by 12.75= 29.4 pounds per foot span loading. Neal Wilford wrote about span loading for Sport Aviation.
