    Kaman used a truck rear end and moter-with the axail pointed up and ran tests on his "new blades" and take note its not the power or rpm but cyclic fatigue your looking for in the tests-1000's of hours worth

    Horton wings?

    Saw a Horton jet at Chino (Not the northrup wing) long time ago It had steel tube center section,both engines and cocpit,the wood wings removed nonrepairable, Cool to look at,But stealthy NO not in its design it would stick out like a reflector....Still sleek as heck....

    As the RPM increases tip exit velosity has to work agenst drag,mass,and subtracted velosity at the tip, but the air moter at the hub if made out of aluminum and a chemical gas generator sounds good.

    The construction of rotor blades is a little more involved than stated,chord ballance not even mentioned,solid planking,water soulable glue,any one starting any project had better look a little harder at the industry standards used in the past,wood over steel spar with balsa trailing camber...

    Go from gear drive on the cam,to chain ,change out to in on oil pump,lots of work (boats with twin inboards are this way) or mount spur gear on front to reverse the rotation.

    Don't Dry Start your Engine

    On the Nanchang CJ 6 we installed a pre lube pump-a hand pump used on a hyd stand and a check valve,from the oil tank to a pressure port,open a side door on the engine compartment pull the handle 10 times -put it away done- pre lubed ready to fly less than a pound......Keep it simple.

    HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF??????

    Turbine power is the most reliable power,Self contained,lite,lots of ponies you spend less on instalation ,and Gyros stall, lose control at low Gs,and with no prerotator need a runway (even if its a short one) I have not flown a helicopter I didnt like.

    crazy questions

    Worked at Gulfstream LGB the Pro seal is used in the wings for the wet wing to hold fuel, and scotch weld 3216 for structures. When doing skin lay ups you can use both ,but when the applacation is more structural go with scotch weld adhesive they have a type for every applacation.
