Propellor design
Do you guys think these newer Sensenitch/ whirlwind GAP propellors are as good as say the Catto/prince designs. Also, if I didnt care about climb would reducing diameter and increasing pitch yield any speed gains? I always read that more diameter is better but its also harder to turn that...- jeff naul

changing to taildragger..
hey guys, I have a Zenith Zodiac HDS and wanting to change over to taildragger. what I want to use is whitman rod gear bolted to the spar. this configuration will have the gear swept straight forward rather than out and back as tailwinds/RVs have.. does anyone see any problems with this? ive...- jeff naul

2180 upgrade.
Hey guys, I'm boxing my engine this weekend and shipping to Hummel for the Force 1 prop hub machine work. While I'm a part I'm wondering what is the latest greatest best cam for our application? My logbook shows my engine kit was ordered from CB performance so I'm sure the cam is not the best... -

Turning rev master carb
O.k. not VW related... I built a new intake for my subaru EA 81/zenith zodiac so I could turn my Revmaster carb so that the needle pulls up when the throttle opens. Wow what a difference it made. I now have even EGTs from idle to wot. When the carb was turned one side of the engine would puff... -

S 2 clipped wing...
What I've been wondering is if I clipped the wing of a sonerai 2 and then add a Hoerner wingtip. Would that give the speed of a clipped wing without losing any of the stability of the long wing? I'm sure this has been discussed but my searching came up with nothing. -

vortex generators
I'm about order a set for my Zenith Zodiac because everybody that has added them all see huge improvements. 10 m.p.h. cruise increase with 5-7 slower landing speeds with no thump that the HDS is known for on touchdown. So this has me thinkin about my Sonerai, I fly off a grass strip with trees... -
