    Fastest VOLKSWAGEN Sonerai 2

A few years ago my i fought cooling on my Subaru e81 zodiac. Doing a little panel work I Installed a oil temp guage. Holy s@&% 280 and it never looked back. To my surprise some cowling work and plenum around the oil pan the oil temps now are 180.. then I had to add a thermostat to get the engine...

    Fastest VOLKSWAGEN Sonerai 2

180 is impressive! I have force one hub now so the cowling has to have work. Contemplating building exhaust in the cowling. Curious if it's worth it if anyone has any feedback.

    Fiberglass Spinner

I ordered the fiberglass spinner from sonex Monday. No shipping confirmation yet.. I had actually bought the sonex spinner/crush plate thingy. But there was just no way to make it look decent without adding atleast six more inches to the already longer force one hub. And the thick Sterba prop...

    Fiberglass Spinner

Thx Fred, I thought years ago there were stories that the rpm and direct drive tore them apart.

    Fiberglass Spinner

Anyone used the fiberglass spinner that sonex shows on the site? Will they hold up? My 1981 aluminum is getting pretty rough. Thx, Jeff

    Top Mount Oil Cooler

I've always liked that setup too, but wouldn't just one hose from the higher pressure side be better than two?

    Propellor design

Very interesting read. Ive heard turning the prop 180 to try and reduce vibration. Is that worth a try when using an PSRU?

    Propellor design

Do you guys think these newer Sensenitch/ whirlwind GAP propellors are as good as say the Catto/prince designs. Also, if I didnt care about climb would reducing diameter and increasing pitch yield any speed gains? I always read that more diameter is better but its also harder to turn that...

    503UL DCDI, Static RPM Expectations

Is your plane at an airport yet or working from home? Im in BTR this morning. May bounce over to regional or false river in a bit.

    New propeller

Thats great. Most 0200s run around at 2300...i wouldnt be surprised if your climb stayed the same or got a little better... i can pitch up to 20.5 degrees(from 17.5) and climb nearly the same. Ground run is only a few plane lengths longer. But everything doesnt seem as happy. At the lower pitch...

    503UL DCDI, Static RPM Expectations

I dont think the rpm will come up as much as you want. But I would fly it there and see how you like it. Full throttle you may get 6500. I think I get 6800 full throttle. Dont remember what pitch prop I have. But its a 503/challenger2. EGT will come up in flight. My temp hasnt worked in so long...

    New propeller

Im using a sensenitch 70" two blade ground adjustable. Subaru/601 HDS. Once im out of airframe cleanup changing to a prince prop will be the last thing that I change again. What did you change diameter wise? Jeff

I am building a tractor, side by side, engine behind pilot gyroplane.

Hello, I'm an outboard mechanic and would like to share some thoughts. First Im not partial to any brand engine but have been racing mercury V6's since high school (1994). In an early post you mention using the mercury 125 h.p. I understand why because its a 4 cylinder inline which would lay...
