    I'll vote for an a65 with a nice metal prop as easiest. Props an vw's have no flywheel.

    Yes that is my tailwind, Flew it with a 60" dia wood prop, it had the same cruse performance as a 150 hp tailwind, burnt 10 gph at 180mph (gps) and 2800 rpm.

    The cast aluminum is much better in the newer rover blocks and you can get an oil pump around the crank snout.

    I've got one, it's a wild ride, rivet sets are special too, be careful it needs full throttle to hit hard enough to buck -4 and bigger rivets.

    wittman did not use a manual trans isolator. it was a rigid shaft with a support bearing. He went through a few shafts till it got stiff enough.

    the wings could be any airfoils you wanted. most of the replicas dont use the original. for flaps/slats. id start with something like the buttercup.
