    Turbo Corvair Conversion ..........Hypothetical

In reading this linked page, I found "built this exhaust System out of 321 stainless. Its future home is on Woody Harris’ 601 XL. He will be retrofitting his 2,850 cc engine with a turbocharger". Does anybody know Woody Harris and if he did indeed turbo his 601? Dave

    Core for infusion

I use a closed cell foam for wing skins. I get the cheap stuff from Diab in 1/8". I then punch a 1" x 1" pattern of 1/8" holes. I warm the mold to encourage flow out of sight to move quicker than the surface on the bag side. This tends to prevent dry areas out of sight.

FibreGlast System 2000 and EcoPoxy...your thoughts??

There are Urethane Acrylates such as Crestapol from Scott Bader. Look into all your options before setting your course. Then be sure you use the compatible bonding methods.

    Turbo Corvair Conversion ..........Hypothetical

As I said, it was my understanding. I heard it somewhere at a Corvair event. Don't remember who or when, just that it was why we cant run 150 Hp continuous. I'm sure some engineer-type could could research and prove/disprove it. I am just saying that it was my understanding.

The Saberwing is now flying with a turbo-normalized package. The prop has been upped by four inches of pitch. There are videos on Azalea Aviation's facebook page. I'm sure that Bill will post more data as it becomes available. I read here that someone commented on cooling at 180Hp would be...

Happy Pilot Father's Day! - Thanks DAD!

My dad was a dreamer. He subscribed to Air-Power, Air-Classics, Flying and many model magazines. Unfortunately, my father was an insulin dependent diabetic. He was a diabetic from way back before insulin could be synthesized. He had to boil a glass needle, and inject insulin scavenged from pig...

What's a good job to get to work on an airfield

How to start? Build an airplane. Build a Teenie Two or a fly-Baby or a Max ultralight. Even a teenager can build an ultralight. Once you begin hopping around the smaller airports, the work will find you. Build a flying resume. Start in the fun and enjoy as the fun continues.

    Life in an airpark

One of the things to look into is how the runway access is granted. I have seen the runway as a separate lot that "members" pay to access. I have seen members lose access. I have an airpark home. Our runway is on an easement running down the centerline of all the properties. Since everybody owns...

    Sun n Fun 2016

Awesome year at S&F!! I saw that Dreamer fly inn the Showcase. Think "F-15 in slo-mo". So cool to see a seemingly mad scientist succeed. We had a great showing in our booth with unbelievable interest levels. We are gonna have to pick up the pace on our expansion if the interest even comes close...

Alert on Azalea LLC and Bill Clapp

I also believe in doing my own research. A quick search of the pilots database shows that WW did indeed get a pilot's license. He received a sport pilot's license in 2010. It does not appear that he held any other cert. (Perhaps someone knows how to verify previous certs) so, Bill may not have...

Alert on Azalea LLC and Bill Clapp

To all who wanted to see some of the allegations answered: One of WW's assertions was that Aeromax closed up and "effectively" left customers with no recourse. I found the video below that was posted on YouTube way back in 2009. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjgUagJfC3g Notice that...
