Fuel flow GPM/PSI on gravity fed system?

Good point on the flow check as it comes out of the valve. My question relates to a helicopter so climes are rather flat, none the less these are all valid points. This system seems to work just don't want to take things for granted.

Don Hillberg.... have a few questions.

By your description it would seem obvious that it was "The End of the story" for that ship and very fortunate for him that the work done was done. Did you hear anything on the circumstances that led to the accident? I am visualizing a very large chunk of aluminum for the plate in order for...

Don Hillberg.... have a few questions.

Did you see the air-frame after the crash? Wondering where the mast and rotor head ended up and how the soft mount set up did in keeping the gear box/mast in a relatively normal position. I've seen first hand one of these where the rotors hit swampy ground, blades went airborne and the mast...

Don Hillberg.... have a few questions.

How thick was the plate? I take it then that the gear box was hard mounted to the plate? Rubber bushings at four points ? Rubber bushings top and bottom? Do you recall or know how many (roughly) hours were put on this setup prior to selling and the crash by the new owner :( Did all the work end...

Don Hillberg.... have a few questions.

You had mentioned a while back that on a Helicom COM II you had soft mounted the main gear box on an aluminum plate. Can/will you detail just how you did that a little, they definitely need it, also what did you do with the Mast support block and struts? Ken

    What do you think?

    Welding question

I'd thought about milling a few slots in the inner tube, the horns have been lightened about as far as I want to go. the picture is the last batch, there are more with varying sizes but same principle with each slipped over a tube and welded. The assembly pic is not at all complete but should...

    Welding question

Yes, I have thought about it, would definitely save more weight and I would not have to farm out the construction, which presently I've zero experience. The original control design is almost entirely a welded in place system which I did not like for several reasons, I've modified it to be...

    Welding question

Unfortunately, that would offers no benefit in weight savings which was my hope, in fact SS is ever so slightly heavier. Thanks for the input BBerson

    Welding question

ekimneirbo Thanks for the help, love how you guys think differently for solutions. Unfortunately, what you are suggesting (as I am visualizing what you are saying) is not possible as the tubes with the horns rotate in close tolerance around an inner tube and are only 1/8" thick. I wish I had...

    Welding question

Actually thats not a bad idea, just no clearance to the inner tube.
