    Dogfight in a replica?

Can you fight a replica? There's alot of kit's out there that say they can take high G's. I saw the post where a Tornado F3 jumped a scale P-47. The 47 pilot said he could out turn the F3. Can replica's take the stress? How about a dogfighter fly-in. Kinda like a home builders TOP GUN or RED...

Time to rewrite the air combat handbook

Manned vs. unmanned. I think taking the pilot out is a mistake. A UCAV is good for dropping JDAMS, Hellfires and taking picture's for hours at the time. These mission's are done after the air space is secured. The UCAV people always mention the "25G turn". This is true. But this is a mute point...

    Lost Medical, Sold Aircraft...

I can't help but think it been 60 years since a P-47 (replica) crashed through a hedge row. Sorry, that was a bad joke. Sorry for your loss and glad your OK. Gods speed and a good tail wind on your next aircraft.

    What happened to Thunder Mustang

Does anybody know if you can still get a Thunder Mustang? From what I can tell she look's like an great aircraft. Funny thing though. Every time I ask people about it I get a 50/50 split. Half say it's a good, safe plane and the other half can't bash it enough. I like it. The V-12 reminds me of a...

    JetA piston engines

Your right about the down time. This subject is a good example of what makes this type of aviation so interesting. There are a thousand and one ways to build the same airplane, and that's before you pick an engine!

    JetA piston engines

This might sound stupid but I'll ask it anyway. Seems like all these engines are two-stroke. Does that mean you have to fill up with some sort of "pre-mix/additive" tank along with the fuel tank (ie chain saw or dirt bike)? And if so, what kind of additive does Jet-A need? And as a side note, I...

Looking for Army Aviation Warrant Officer's

I'd like to talk to past and present Army Warrant's. I just finished my private pilot lic. and trying to get a packet together for W.O.C.S. Rucker (rotary wing aviation). No college but I do have four years as a Police Officer. Just liked to ask some question's about the process and talk to...

    GPS kneeboard

I'm trying to find a way to locate a Garmin 96C on my leg. The yoke mount is great as long as you have one. If you fly a stick there's no where to put the GPS. I found some kneeboards that will work with horizontal unit's but the 96C is vertical. I have an awsome USAF issue kneeboard on the...

    "big engine" Titan P-51

Does anyone have any info or ideas about using something other than the Rotax 912S in a Titan P-51. I was thinking an IO-360 or something similar in size. I think it would fit and would give the bird twice the muscle. I'd like to have the power to take off with two adults and full tanks, and...
