    Marine Engines (Honda)

Honda mainly uses aluminum for the engine block and heads don't they?

    Bearhawk Patrol

I am a little wider and heavier then the average person, that 32 inch wide cabin is looking real good. I can't find a weight limit for the engine as I am looking at a possible subaru engine for power. I was looking at a Bearhawk but won't have a need for something that big by the time it is...

Did the Patrol plans come with a complete material list?

    Bearhawk Patrol

I can find all kinds of parts for sale for the cub, but no complete set of plans. I'll have to look at the cub club web site, hear they have plans that may fit the bill. And yes building the plane with my kids while teaching them life skills is worth every minute. (not to mention the maintenance...

    Bearhawk Patrol

Thanks for the replies. I have looked at the bearhawk site and like you said there is a lot of OT stuff. I thought of building the bearhawk but like the looks of the Patrol (reminds me of a Scout). Has anyone delt with VR3 Engineering? They are the ones providing pre-cut kits. Looks like a way...

    Bearhawk Patrol

Is anyone building a Bearhawk Patrol? How are the plans and what kind of support have you had with the build. Are there any support groups just for this plane? Thanks for all repiles Joe

    V6 engine weight

Does anyone know where I can find the weight of a 4.3 liter V6? I've looked most everywhere I can think of. Even went to beltedair, I think it is around 260 lbs but not sure. Appreciate any help i can get Joe

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

If I understand what he said right, he did not change the profile on the wing except for taking off the slats and adding the VGs and possibly lengthening the wing. If thats the case then the 801 deserves another close look.

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

Know of anyplace to see some more photos of the finished plane, if its done. That looks like a fun project to work on.

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

Seen one once, don't need something that big. kids will be gone soon and only need space for gear and occasional passenger. Thinking wag aero, but this is a interesting idea.

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

Be nice if it was a 4 place, but that is what I had in mind for the 801.

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

So your talking about taking just the leading edge and reshaping it to a different style?? That would be a lot easier then trying to redo the whole thing.

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

wonder how it would be if the wing was redesigned with VGs, flaps instead of the flaparons. Keep the fat hershey bar, move rear spar if needed add flaps and alerons. Lots of work but may be worth the effort.

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

Doesn't have to be a bearhawk wing, just a different style (Cessna, Murphy, or any other aluminum wing that could be fit to the thing) to get a little more speed and range. (less drag) I know the thing is not built for speed, but maybe it could at least out run cub. (Maybe) Just a wild thought I...

    Zenith 801 with Bearhawk wing?

Wondering how this would work if you mixed a Zenith CH801 fuselage with an Bearhawk or other type of standard style wing? Any comments or suggestions on this idea would be most appreciated. Only looking to increase cruise speed a little to 100, 115mph or so no real payload increases. Would the...

Help me narrow down my choices for an Alaska Bush plane.

The merlin is a 2 place side by side airplane thats been around since the early ninties I believe. Sat in one a while back (1992), lots of interior room. Decent load capability, performance is close to a super cub (80mph cruise). it can be powered by any number of rotax engines 50 hp and up, or...

    Marine Engines (Honda)

If you want more info about the honda engine, go to accord performance and Honda accord forum. There are some ways to really get some good performance numbers out of this engine at reasonable rpms. but like Orion said, getting a PSRU for the engine is going to be the expensive part. Joe

    Honda V6

After looking at the Honda you can get a 200hp build up fairly inexpensive, it also produces a decent amount of torque, close to 225 ft pds. and stay close to 5000 rpm. Now its only a matter of finding the right redrive to fit the engine. Joe

    Who's Using an Alt Engine?

I am currently doing some research on the possibility of using an Honda V6 or a chevy V6. the Honda could come real close to what an O-360 weighs with a gear drive and fixed propeller. I do need about 180 to 200hp, just trying to decide about the torque possibilities between the different...

    Aerocomp Aircraft

Pilot only, half fuel and high lift wing i believe. I thought about that plane but am still looking for a good 4 place design. Prefer plans only rather than kit.
