    I took and cut off the tail section of my old challenger fuselage redesigned it with a 5 inch tail boom still working on design for the tail wheel.

    I measured mine it is 1/2 inch and for some reason stainless steel 304 tubing. I have made a lot of changes mine was wrecked thanks to an ex friend tail bend up so design my own plane out of it got rid of the flimsy three point tail and went with a 5 inch boom tail converted to a tail dragger...

    I think that if a person really wants to fly an altralite they can fin a way, the legal eagle is still one of the lowest prices ultralite to build and even if you have to buy everything already made it is still under $10,000, if you look at price of snowmobiles, quads, boats cars or trucks...
