Airplane For Sale Murphy Rebel project estate sale

Sorry Keith, I didn't see your post till now. I think it was a real good deal as well. Funny thing, once the buyer decided to buy, there were 3 other guys who wanted it as well. At any rate, it's gone now, and seller and buyer are both happy.

Airplane For Sale Murphy Rebel project estate sale

Hi all, a friend of mine passed away last winter, and I'm helping his widow sell off his airplane stuff. He was building a Murphy Rebel and was probably about 90% complete on it. Not his first project by any means either, he was quite skilled at working on airplanes. At any rate, the Rebel...

Thoughts on a DIY Taildragger Dragger?

If you want a powered one, this is what I did with an old snowblower and a lawn tractor starter motor plus a pully I had laying around. I don't use anything in the summer with the Kitfox, but when it's on skis, it's harder to move around.

    Kits without Legal Documents

I didn't read all the comments, maybe someone else already said this, but I would suggest you contact the DAR that you intend to work with to get the airworthiness cert when it's finished and find out exactly what he will be happy with. He is the one who will give it a passing grade or a...

    Meglinsky Propeller

I do know that lots of the NR props are being used every day, Lots of the STOL drag guys use them with lots of HP spinning them. I have one on my Kitfox 4 (it works great) and another hanging on the wall for the next Kitfox I'm building. There is some kind of close relationship between...

    Wind turbines falling

On a trip from Mn to ND last summer, I saw huge piles of pieces of windmills waiting to be disposed of. I found this image on line as well. Have a better one on my phone, but it's harder to transfer over.

    Rotax in the News

Here is a link to a European dealer for those Chinese knock off engines. In the price list, the 80 HP is 12,000 Euro with out VAT. Would China sell to Iran?? I would imagine so. AIR K MOTORS

CGS Hawk Desgner/Builder Chuck Slusarczyk Passes

I met Chuck at Sun and Fun in 2003. He had one Hawk partly assembled and the seat showed a new innovation. It was a ball hitch. Had a funny bit of wording next to it, including one line that said, "the more you need it, the better works". Just looked through my pics on the pc and didn't...

    Lost Operating Limitations

Here is an aircraft registration on the FAA website. I took a guess at this number and this plane showed up. Point being is if you look at the end of the last sentence in AIRWORTHNESS section, and just before the OTHER OWNERS NAMES section, you will find a link there. When you click on that...

    The "good" old days.

I was probably about 7 and was driving the 1946 Chevy 2 ton truck on the hay field. I was to short to reach the gas pedal and have my heal on the floor boards so if there was a bump, the gas pedal got a bump as well. I was going slow from one bale to the next and my dad was stacking hay on the...

    Conditional A/W cert

I had to change the phase 1 area of operations on one of my Avid Flyers when I first got it. Had only about 25 hrs flown off of the 40 required. The DAR inspection had been done in 1991, and the rules regarding major changes and such back then were a bit more stringent. An FAA employee from...

    Rotax 912 question

I have the 912 engine in my Kitfox, and use a thermo-bob thermostat to keep the coolant temperature up in the winter. The thermo-bob has a bypass line on it, and that line runs through a heater core in the cockpit. A computer type fan blows air through the heater core when I want heat. I do...
