    Anti-ice for experimental.

Their is a an alternative to heat and or chemical de-icing, about 15 years ago I equipped my Mooney 231 with a 2” wide Kapton printed circuit strip along the leading edge of the wing. (See photo ) This had interdigited gold plated fingers. By applying ~ 400 VAC to the alternate fingers I could...

    Gas turbine help

Is there anyone on Homebuilt Airplanes fluent in gas turbine technology? I have a radial compression turbine design in Solidworks. (Very high compression with no leaks.) I am moving from the “unbridle enthusiasm“ to the “cautious optimism” phase of the project and would love to pick the brains...

    Auto fuel STC and Ethanol

Some years ago an extensive test of E85 was run in Texas using a Mooney 201 and a Cessna 182. The only issue noted was the fail ( leak) of a fuel selector gasket if the 182 . The cause may or may not have been due to the alcohol.

Verhees Delta D2 ? Does anyone know if any plans have ever been sold for it ?

Need someone like Vans that is set up to do CNC punch work for self-aligned jigging via Clecos. van’s might view this as competitive with the existing RV-x products. But I perceive it as a slightly different market segment. In light of the old axiom “How to make a small fortune in aviation...

Why battery-powered aircraft will never have significant range

RE: electric hybrid most compact linear alternator is the Israeli linear alternator 16KW in a suitcase. Needs and order of magnitude improvement for aircraft use. see actual working hardware got to: This is a 16KW linear alternator smaller than a suitcase.

US Military Shoots Down Fourth Flying Object Near Michigan

Has anyone seen a photo of these flying objects claimed to be about the sizeof a car? And allegedly being shot down by missiles launched from F-22 aircraft. I have searched the web and found nothing. Is this all to distract us from the regular day to day political corruption?

    Cutting 4130 sheet

I use the 4-1/2“ Harbor Freight carbide friction blade cut off wheels in an angle grinder and the HF 7”:carbide cutoff wheels on my table saw. They make a fast cut and are cleaner than my hand held plasma torch. If I need and outside radius, I just make multiple cuts near the scribed radius and...

    Counterflow Radiator Design

I built a counter flow radiator for both oil and water cooler 6” diameter by 18” long. 56 tubes 1/2” air tubes with a 3D printed “multi nozzle “ for each tube. Hot water enters from the back end and moves forward. Cool air moves from front to back. This maximizes heat transfer. Unit hangs below...
