    That 58X36 is too much pitch for a 2.238 ratio gearbox and you say the prop you have is too small and highly pitched , IF it was highly pitched it wouldn't over rev as you say , I think you need to check your tach and Incase you didn't know the 503 is a 7000 RPM snowmobile engine so...

    I normally fly at full throttle 2700 RPM 0320 Tri Pacer where the throttle butterfly in the carb has the least resistance to air flow where I was told many years ago that done that way all cylinders are getting closer to the same amount of fuel
