    Boeing aircraft-Very very funny

a reply You will have to forgive me for this, as this is just an opinion of a 14 yr ex-soldier. If that were my daughter, the love of my life, the reason that I am alive today........I would do anything I could possibly do, (forgetting my life and future in the U.S.) To get the man...

I just purchased a BD-5 Kit yesterday, which is essentially 75% assembled. I'm going in two weeks to pick it up and bring it back to Wichita to finish it up. I do have some limited sheetmetal skills and basic tools (bucking bars, dimpler, clecos etc etc), however I do not have advanced skills...

    cardboard and duct tape airplane

cardboard? My grandfather gave me several peices of advise as a kid, most of which I didn't understand till later in life. Some of which are not appropriate for listing here. Here is one of them: There are two kinds of people on this planet son, You can send them both to the same schools...

    cardboard and duct tape airplane

reply Daniel, It is entirely possible (in my humble opinion) to build an aircraft from a lumber store depending on the materials chosen to do it. For example, Douglas fir is 23% stronger than Spruce, but 26% heavier so you have to make adjustments for this. It can be done.

Cardboard Airplane? Wade you are incorrect on several of you're thoughts and assumptions concerning aerodynamics, weight/drag & turbulence. The 747 (as you mentioned) was tunnel tested for many months at 1/20 the scale, as is EVERY airplane prior to construction and final engineering. If an...

    Poor Man's TCAS

TCAS Orion, I agree with almost everything you stated with the exception of utilizing every available tool you have. ATC is a wonderful tool, they are extremely helful in various situations, and even groups like AOPA and the EAA encourage pilots to use them as often as possible. This world...

    cardboard and duct tape airplane

cardboard? You guys are nuts, however I was bet 3 years ago I couldn't build a flyable airplane from strickly home depot materials. I did it and won the bet, and it's still flying at 147.3 VNE. Construction methodology is paramount. Card board is heavy and useless in my humble opinion...

    Poor Man's TCAS

TCAS And further more...........do NOT show up to flight training with all sorts of BS flight bags, tools and alot of crap you don't need. All you need to fly is a REALLY good noise attenuating headset, a very small ASA headset bag, a small flight computer, a ink pen, a small notepad, you're...

    Poor Man's TCAS

TCAS You know, those little devices are cool, BUT, they work off of transponder signals, which means, they if they don't have a transponder you won't know they are there. You'd be surprised how many airplanes do not have transponders. I can fly into any class airspace requiring a transponder...
