    When to use flox?

having built a fisher dakota hawk i have a little practical experience on this. i found i hardly ever needed flox for joint filler. a better bet is to fit the wood better. fwiw i would NEVER try to glue a piece of wood [usually a gusset] to a glue joint until after i had FILED the area flat...

    Fisher Flying Products for Sale

fwiw, i had a lot of rides in a dakota hawk before and after the wing was rebuilt and the flaps removed. anyone who has seen the underside of a hawk wing would admit that the flap area must leak air as much as a 2 car garage flung thru the air. AMAZING ! the new wing, without the...

    T88 and Epoxy based varnish

i never even considered using t-88 to anything but bare wood during my construction. don't count on the varnish adhering as well to the wood as the glue does. another point.........unless you are sealing areas that will be in contact with fabric cement [mek] there is no reason to break the bank...

i have a homemade hangar door 40 foot x 10foot. it is one piece, the bottom flips out and up. i bought the hangar 10 yrs ago and it works pretty darn good, lo maintenance. i would not in a million years attempt to build this. i think i saw plans online somewhere. there are cables and pulleys...

    Use of Plenums?

i have a jab 3300 and built a conventional plenum rather than the jab ducts. took some experimenting but my temps are good [only temp that ever gets to 300 is the pilot side front head, go figure!] i have always thought the seals against the top cowl must leak air like a sieve. last post i saw a...
