I guy who lives at the end of my road is building his third aircraft, an RV-8. His other two were both scratch built from plans, a Dragonfly(composite), and a Signet (tube and fabric). I asked him about all those rivets on the RV-8. He said that their is SOOOOO much work and time invested to...

    A question.

A good company to look at for a kit build is the Murphy Aircraft Company. They are located in Chiliwack B.C. Canada. Before I settled on the Cozy MKIV, I was almost commited to the Murphy Super Rebel. They held a hands on workshop at their factory that I attended a few years back. They have...

    Pulling CheeryMax CR3213 4-3 Rivets

Hey you spam can builders!! I'm building two Cozy MKIV's which are fiberglass planes. I need to install 220 CherryMax CR3231 4-3 rivets in the ailerons and rudders. The Aircraft Spruse catalog says to install these with a G-27 handgun, which costs: $173.00. Is there any reason I can not use...

    wood choice

Use the spruce thats called out for in your plans. Make sure it is graded for aviation use. A knot in a critical area could ruin your day>

Next Gen Certified Aircraft Engine? Honda

It will be interesting to see which engine TCM puts into production, the diesel under development with the NASA GAP grant, or this gas engine with joint venture of Honda Motors. My money goes on the Honda.

Skip, The late Tony Bingellis has a couple excellent books on the subject. One is "Tony Bingellis On Engines" and another is "Firewall Forward". Talks alot about auto conversions and PSRU's including how to build your own.

Aircraft Registration by a non-US citizen?

Hi, For the correct answer to your question, contact the EAA or go direct to the FAA for the answer. I would not rely on the assumption answers you may get from the forum. Not for something this critical. Good Luck and please let us know what you find out. Dave

    Post Curing Question

Jake, From what I gather, most builders do not bother with a post cure like I mentioned. They instead rely on the sun to do the work. Two neighbors who live nearby me both built composit planes. One built a Pulsar and did not post cure. He was VERY unhappy when a yaer after the plane was...
