Chevy?? Could this be the GM Import: Geo, Suzuki??

psru Thanx Dave, I read TB's book and it's good stuff, my problem is finding someone who will sell me the components to build it. All the parts available locally are the 'heavy' industrial versions. Cast Iron pulleys etc. Most of the UL Mgg want you to build their project to get any help, and...

Chevy?? Could this be the GM Import: Geo, Suzuki??

The 350 Chevy is big power that requires big reduction to convert for aircraft. Some of the "Fast Glass" experimentals are using Chev, Buick,Ford etc. These exp's are usually 1800#, and fly in the 200's mph. Not my cup a T, but I'll go back and get the names of the PSRU for you..

    Interesting Radial for smaller homebuilts

Rotec Radial Both I looked at were hangin-out. If you go to the Little Wing site there is a picture of it with its nose sticking out of the "shed" That's where it was when I saw it. it was hanging from a hoist, while he was fabricating the mounts. I stopped by on my way back to FL from vacation...

    Interesting Radial for smaller homebuilts

Rotec Radial There was a Kitfox at Sun n Fun last year that was demonstrating it. It is very smooth and not noisy. There was such a crowd I couldn't get close enough for a close-up. I did see it up close at Ron Herron's. (Little Wing, Tractor Gyro) He was working on the M/Mount, so never heard...

    PSRU

Anyone building a GeO had any luck finding parts for a PSRU, besides buying the "gold plated ones?"

Easy?? I'm basically a gyro guy, but back when (long time ago) we had to qualify our rotor rating in a small Helicopter. There were NO gyro instructors then. Before you get serious 'bout building either of these kits, I would suggest you spend an hours worth of Introductory Instruction with a...

AO 84 I couldn't get the yahoo site.. I won't sign on with them... But- I did find a site through one of the search engines. It's called Road Runner or something like that. This guy who has some of these engines is right here in FL with-in driving range (If gas doesn't go any higher!) I have...

    Gyro prerotator

I have been a member of "Sunstate Wing & Rotor" which is associated with PRA, and EAA. for several years. I had a partner on a Benson B8, back in the 60's. After we bent it up beyond repair, I didn't fly much gyro for several years. When I recovered from growing kids and divorce, I got back into...

Chevy?? Could this be the GM Import: Geo, Suzuki??

A new category might be OK. The 3 cyl 993cc Geo engine is gaining popularity as a Lite low HP conversion. Straight out of the car, and stripped of all the "Nader" parts, it will produce 57hp at 5400rpm. This very effectively competes with the 503 or 582 Rotex, with out the 2 stroke whine, or the...

    Gyro prerotator

Do you know what design it is? Take off will depend on a lot of parameters such as: Style of rotor, Diameter and pitch, Gross weight at takeoff, HP (Thrust) and pre-rotator speed. Altitude is also a factor. For example, I am building a "Gyrobee" with 40hp, weight is 252 lbs and with pilot and...

Chevy?? Could this be the GM Import: Geo, Suzuki??

If this is for the Geo/Suzuki conversions, I am interested. I want to use a Geo (I have one) but don't want the "gold plated" PSRU from Raven or B-2, If I could find the bearings, pulleys, and belts, I'll make my own back plate, as I want to add a Lovejoy damper to protect the prop.. any...
