    how to grade wood

The only wood that I have found to be suitable for building an airplane from Home Depot or Lowes comes from the moulding section and is marked as HemFir. It is marked as a 1 x 2 but is a little light of those dimensions. I think it is 11/16 by 1 7/16. I would stay out of the framing supplies...

Survey - New designs from JDT Mini-Max

They have the design for the 2 seat Himax but Team says they don't "have a market". Meaning that not enough people have shown them the money. If they were to receive several kit orders they might introduce the airplane. They took the idea to a show and had not one order. The story is on the...

    CNC cutting of epoxy prepreg

nzdavo, Rahm's Personal Cruiser is made from flat panels and has a curved fuselage. There are no expensive molds or pre-preg panels just foam and fiberglass. The finishing can't be that expensive or time consuming. No reason to purchase his kit just use his ideas and watch his video. Also...

    Who designs aircraft?

So after reading this thread I am reminded of an airplane kit called the personal cruiser. AKA fold-a-plane. Steve Rahm developed the idea and wrote an article for the Experimenter magazine, the December 2002 edition. It sounds a lot like this conversation. Fold-a-Plane Sorry, I see after...

    Spruce or Fir supplier

Go to Home Depot or Lowes, to the contractor's counter, and ask them if they have a source for S4S(surfaced 4 sides), tight grained, CVG(clear vertical grained) Doug Fir. Many times you can buy Doug Fir CVG flooring but be sure it is tight grained. You ideally need about 10 rings per inch. Keep...
