    Falco N644F

Beautiful plane and nicely written as well. Congratulations

    Too fast for me!

This is an inherint problem with a low-wing monoplane amphib design. A really good flap design is difficult, because of clearance issues in chop, as well as ground effect issues. I would look into some of the other lift increasing options as well, as pointed out above. I don't think the issue is...

    Rocket Planes

I agree with most of your statements here Orion, however... The rocket powered LongEZ uses a throttleable liquid fueled angine that can also be stopped and re started in flight. It uses an inexpensive fuel and the design of the engine actually uses hardware store parts in it. Dick Rutan has...

    Bakeng Duce

Not my type of plane, but a **** nice job. Oddly I tend to like the newer stuff but I have a soft spot for biplanes LOL. Anyway like I said, a fine job.

    RANS S6-ES

Wow I like the design of the fuselage from what I can see in the pics. Quite robust. I only wish I had the money at this time to begin. I would be VERY interested in that frame. I have a friend however who might be interested and have forwarded the site address to him. Did a bit of...

    Jet A1 in a Rotary

OK most of the work we did was a group of experimenters. The engines used were the 12a and 13b variants. We started the program building a drag racing engine, that would run on AvGas so that we could up the compression. We were quite successful with spark tech engines and with compression levels...

    RANS S6-ES

Anyone here have experience with this model in the bush? I'm a fan of "Rag and Tube" in the bush and this seems like a good candidate.

    Well thanks for the welcome

    JetA piston engines

Yeah the Deltahawk appears to be the exception to the rule in this. The Thielert engine is (to the limit of my knowledge) the only certified engine in the category at this time. (Please correct me if I am wrong at the moment). The TBO is set at 1000 hrs (attempting to get further certification...

    Greetings from the wet coast

Greetings all from the "newbie on the wet coast" I'll try to impart what little knowledge I have, and to keep my questions intelligent LOL.

I want the flying snoopy that would be cool LOL.

    JetA piston engines

Hmmm... That's good info, and too bad really as it is a most promising concept. The good power to weight ratio would be nice in the homebuilt arena. One of my big problems with the current entry and some of the others is the lack of an ovehaul option. Basically these engines are a lease where...

    Bud Starnes, Q200

I've always felt that Quickie design was the best looking ever. Nice nice job and hearty congratulations.

    A float Q

Once upon a time I saw a pic of a Tail dragger type A/C on floats. What made the A/C interesting was that the floats were quick change. Basically they could be quickly detached for standard wheels and even big 'ol bush tires. This is like my dream plane as what I intend to build at some point...

    unusual engine idea

We did a turbo rover in a TR8 when I was in high school. Seems to me we were able to get somewhere north of 300 hp with it after some serious mods. Not sure how long it would have lasted though as we wrecked it at the track. I didn't expect the poor bugger to last long anyway.

    Jet A1 in a Rotary

Having some (limited) experience in diesel conversion projects I can tell you that a rotary is a very bad candidate for conversion. The worst part being horrible inefficiency and what would turn out to be a VERY low TBO.

    JetA piston engines

http://www.zoche.de/ Hello This is one of the most promising engines I have found on this subject. I'm a huge fan of diesels and I like radials too sooooo... I like the compact size and light weight of this one. Give 'er a look. http://www.zoche.de/
