    Are you a pilot and/or a homebuilder?

I think I've discovered that I enjoyed the build more than I will the flying. Now that I'm about finished with mine, I'm thinking about selling it. Might even do another one. I got about 40 hours flying a Cherokee and find it about as much fun as driving a chevette. Landing is the only real fun...

    Need source for retract cylinders

It will take some research to find the right one, but my Spitfire uses electric retract and electric flap motors. I was told they came from a hospital bed manufacturer. They're compact, powerful, and fairly light weight. I tried a search for hospital bed actuators and its unlimited looks like to me.

Considering a Rotary conversion, need help

Notice that the prop seems to have a clutch. It doesnt move while the engine is starting, then spins after ignition. And if you will listen close, the engine rpm and the prop rpm change at different points.

Considering a Rotary conversion, need help

For really big horse power, you block those side ports and install single large peripheral per rotor. Then you would have only three intake tubes, and a whole lot easier to build. But it take rather serious engine modification to make those ports and easy to screw up a good engine.

two intake ports per rotor. One large and one small.

I might add, these engines are supposed to be that take outs of running japanese cars. In japan, its requird to replace all engines at 30K miles (equivalent kilometers) for emission purposes. These are supposed to be these motors. here's one with the ecu, coils, and wiring harness. ebay #...

Considering a Rotary conversion, need help

The Spitfire is about done. I lack installing the lights and paint. And the little detail of becoming a pilot so I can fly the thing. I think I'll get my inspection early next year and let the test pilot fly it. Already have a couple of volunteers. I still run the occasionally just to hear it...

http://rotaryaviation.com/ Yes, Tracy is still in business. I chose his PSRU, Engine monitor, and engine controller, and have been very pleased with my purchase. There's several of these flying now and they are proving to be superb products.

    Mazda 20B

250 hp can be done with a two rotor pretty easy, and over 300hp with a turbo. The three rotor is 300hp with some mild porting and not a turbo. In drag race world they are getting 1100 hp out of a three rotor! I dont think we need to put that kind of stress on two liters in an airplane. I think...

    Mazda 20B

Actually the crank would not survive with just a bearing at each end, but the crank could be built, as a 20B and just continue stacking on the rotors. there are some 4 rotors out there, and some single-stack as many as you want- kits out there, and right now even some all aluminum rotaries being...
