remote controlled circuit breakers: ?what options exist

This is a very timely discussion, I'm designing/building the electrical system for a Woody's Pusher now. My question is what does the DAR need to see in the way of pilot accessible fuses/breakers, if any?

Harbor Freight Predator 670 V-Twin Horsepower tests

"I had a a temperature sensor-sender that was actually the washer for a spark plug that would send info to a dash mounted guage but I dont know if they still make anything like that." Yes they do - https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/1105561.php?clickkey=3252794

Tractor engine legal UL with easy folding wings?

Copy a folding design that you do like and adapt it to the Legal Eagle. There is more than one way to skin the proverbial cat. This is experimental aviation after all.

    Wood to steel

My plans for the Woody's Pusher include drawings for both a wood fuselage or steel tube fuselage. The longerons for the wood construction call for 3/4 x 3/4" Fir or Sitka, covered with 1/16" plywood. The tubing versions uses 3/4" x 0.035" wall tubes.

Old MAC servo 3 LED position indicator

Thanks! The servo works, but I haven't tried to wire the indicator yet. The harness was cut in two places before I got the plane, so I'm reverse engineering here. The added complication is that there are trim switches and indicators for both cockpits with one selector switch to determine who is...

Old MAC servo 3 LED position indicator

I'm rebuilding a Woody's Pusher that had a MAC elevator trim servo with the three LED position indicator. My question is what does the indicator tell you? Is it worth wiring in (there are two, one for each cockpit)?

Homebuilt Aircraft Fleet Size - 2023

What, no Tailwinds? The first homebuilt certified to carry passengers? Designed and built by Steve Wittman, one of our founding fathers?

Long Shaft Systems and Torsional Vibration

Sounds just like an earlier (don't know about anything this century) Mercedes drive shaft. Two shafts, a Giubo at each end, center support bearing, with a u-joint. The differential is mounted to the chassis as is the engine/tranny in rubber, the center support bearing is mounted in a rubber...

Use of WEP (War Emergency Power) On GA Aircraft

The formula 1 guys seem to get more than 100hp from a "stock" the Cont. O-200. Just turn it faster.

It seemed like a simple plan...

For me, the value from MIG in building a tube fuselage is being able to tack two or more pieces together, sometimes holding a tube in one hand and tacking with the other. Then start OA welding somewhere else - not at the tack, and run the OA bead right over it - melting the tack as if it was...

Looking for a small LED tail light

That one is surface mount, I wonder if there is one that uses wire leads soldered onto pads?

Looking for a small LED tail light

I corresponded with him about it. He thought the correction might come out in the Feb 2004 issue.

Looking for a small LED tail light

I also have built the "rotating" beacon from Jim Wier's articles. I found that the negative end of C3 needs to go to ground instead of to R10 per the schematic, and research the 4017 decade counter - he does not show all the pins that need to be connected for it to reliably work. Once it is...

Or, alternatively, a design that can be constructed from almost anything that is available. Yes, different specs, structures, etc., but still resulting in the same aerodynamic machine.

    Spitfire

I installed an Olds 215 ci turbo alum V-8 (minus the defunkt turbo) in my '61 MGA. With the home made tube headers it was about a wash weight-wise with the cast iron BMC 1600 cc engine. With the exception of overheating when coming into town after a highway run, it was a great car.

    21st century Volksplane?

I beg to differ: "Fifty-eight years ago, the first Tailwind design was being developed, and today it’s still competitive. Don’t believe us? In 1994, the CAFE Foundation tested Jim Clement’s 160-horsepower W10 and recorded a barograph-derived, super-stinkin’-accurate cruise speed of 188 knots on...
