    Wood skell, bike removed,,,UAV?

So, after a multitude of design considerations, I got to this. Big shrouded 21 inch props, a bit of a blended wing adjunct and lose the bike. Going to be able to test autonomously with short hops. Going to sandbag my payload. So gained on safety for testing. Will prob be able to go UAV as the...

The best wood primer I have seen.

Hey all you wood builders. I don't know if this is common knowledge but a super good read here pdf here: It answers all the basics on woods for aircraft. I read it years ago when deciding on using poplar for some of my structure. Stumbled on it again today while ruminating on brass nails...

    My prop shroud,,,thoughts?

Using offset octagons for my prop shroud. Each segment is 10" poplar 3/4x3/4 gives me a 23" opening. Prop is 21.5". So much glue area I propably wont bother with gussets. Will add some sort of airfoil with spruce or aircraft ply. Not sure what yet...Any ideas, thoughts? Thanks for looking.

New Year and a better design.

This Christmas I gave myself a redesign. The pict shows the big change. No more goofy Tandem; its just a flying wing. I've got the CG placed just right. Using the 4412s which are not suited at all but,,,I will be using an equally chamered alleron to offset the Cm of 0.08 that a 4412 generates...

    Flying Bike Mark 3

So here is Mark 3. Using the 4412s. This one needs to show some affinity with the air or I will admit to being delusional ;) Ditching the BMX frame for better placement of components and lightness. Lots of work ahead but learned a lot form Mark 1&2. Thanks for looking.

    My pico-light Flying Bike

Got her all covered and I think she's looking pretty slick. Still need to work on her but she's all there. My son for scale. He's 4 foot. I'm 5-7.

    Flying Bike Progress

Thought I'd post in the wood and fabric section. Taking my flying bike to the maker faire in Rome. She flies as checked baggage but hope to catch some air soon. Taxi tests (riding around the park) went without trouble. Thanks for looking.

    Building a flying bike

Hi All, Pictured is my flying bike. I am a few weeks from taking it out for 'taxi tests'; just going to ride it around and make sure the wings don't take away from the bikes stability. Will do 12 inch jumps at the bike park after that. Just to get the feel of catching some air. Like many of...
