    Van's announces highwing RV-15

Looks like standard grove style gear to me. The legs have to come up while the center goes down, so it needs areas for the bolts to slide on when in reflex.

Flip top work bench interesting work bench idea

Seems like he found a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. All he managed to do was use up three times the space needed.

    T-88 Epoxy Failure

If your T-88 starts “sugaring” , you can treat it just like honey. Warm it up in a water bath until it goes back to normal solution. I just pulled a couple of my bottles out of the garage that were purchased in 2011 and have been in my shop (Montana and Colorado) and they’re just fine. I’ve got...

What are you doing in addition to flying?

We bought a house last summer, still rearranging the garage and my basement wood shop. Just got the kids a puppy, she’s 4 months old so still training a lot but I’m enjoying all the walks. The rest of the free time is spent in the vegetable garden and tending to the flower gardens, mowing and...

    T-88 Epoxy Failure

T-88 is very forgiving. I have used syringes and other times I just used a crushed up beer can and eyeballed the ratio. Generally I would put the bottles in a pot of warm water prior to measuring and mixing. Just make sure to mix the dickens out of it until it looks like creamed honey. In all my...

Rivets - simple misunderstanding or misled by liars?

They wouldn’t make them unless someone bought them. Those folks wouldn’t buy them unless they had a reason to do so.

    Unlimited Air Racing Dead?

The good old days! That was the one and only California 1000 race if I remember correctly. Now, most of us will remember that race simply because he showed up in a four engine airliner, nobody remembers who won or who raced what but we darn sure remember that airliner!

    Unlimited Air Racing Dead?

Nobody under 30 these days has any interest in watching warbirds race let alone any interest in watching the other classes race. They can’t even be bothered to eat at a restaurant or go fishing. There needs to be something truly unique to get more butts in the bleachers, here’s my ideas: 1...

    Wag-A-Bond

The cabin width is right around 40” at the hips. Depending on what doors you can make it wider if you choose. Cruise should be 100-120 with that engine.

Pilots say they’re being blamed for plane crashes that aren’t their fault

Then who’s fault is it? If you’ve got enough water in the fuel system to down the plane, is it your responsibility to check as PIC? Or is there a group of pixies and fairies that’s supposed to sign off for the blame later?

Makes sense, now Boeings lobbyists and politicians can pick up their bags of money directly from DC.

What did you do on your airplane project today?

Spent a few hours today and got the other half of the bulkheads formed. Now I will make a simple jig on one of the tables for layout and can start drilling and cleco the bulkheads on. Am trying to get my brain in gear to make some new routing and forming templates for the aileron ribs but that...

What did you do on your airplane project today?

Got half of the aileron bulkheads pressed out, need to flip the die over and do the other 20. With the new puppy, the whole house being sick and yard work/gardening taking up all my time last week. Hoping to get them done this week and then move on the the aileron ribs. Still waiting...
