    Engine angle

That depends on how many pencil tips have been inserted into rivet holes, how quickly the water is seeping in past loose sheets, and how effective the bilge pump is. :)

While I have obviously not seen everything, I do own a number of copies of a number of plans from Aeronca, DeHavilland, B. Pietenpol, Piper, Taylorcraft, etc. Most have some sort of a "reference" line but there doesn't seem to be consensus on what it is called or where it is placed. YMMV.

    LSA / FAR 103 Warplanes?

I wonder how high 3.5 gallons of T-Stoff and 1.5 gallons of C-Stoff will get you on initial (only) climb. Make sure you don't get any on your hands... Questions for the lawyers... 1. since the bogie detaches does it count against the 254 pounds? __(or maybe use a powered launch rail to get it...

    LSA / FAR 103 Warplanes?

    1. Take this (Fisher FP-202), 2. Paint like this... 3. Install PVC pipe "rocket launchers" (Note: BATFE approval may be needed to load them :) ).

"And there wasn't nothing (we) could do about it, and the (OP) wasn't going to look at the twenty seven eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was to be used as evidence against"... changing the factory...

    Engine angle

My eyes have not been calibrated recently. But I would say the Piper PA-15 plan are about the same. The thrust line is marked on the fuselage plan and the wing attach points are parallel to it. The angle on the stabilizer is not marked but the forward tube is lower than the rear being supported...

    Engine angle

Terminology wise, Piper called the four long horizontal tubes on the corners of the fuselage "Longerons" on their plans for the J-3, PA-14, PA-15, and PA-18. (Those are just the plans I personally possess.) Military -2 and -3s for the Taylorcraft L-2, Aeronca L-3, and Piper L-4 use the same...

    Engine angle

I should say stall straight ahead, wings level, WITH power-- although power's implied. Apparently if the engine is "drooping" enough, at high angles of attack, it still pushes enough air over the wing that you simply descend and never break.

    Engine angle

I have a set of barely legible PA-15 plans, the horizontal angle is two right, there is no listed vertical angle. This is for the as stock Lycoming O-145 engine. IIRC in the past somebody made a J-3 virtually impossible to stall by adding a certain significant amount (I don't want to say...

    LSA / FAR 103 Warplanes?

Possibly, but "Great War-Birds" seem more likely than those from the sequel. Off the top of my head, it would be relatively easy to "stylize" one of Roger Mann's Church midwings into an Eindecker, or a Heath parasol into a D-VIII. I'd go with the D-VIII because it would eliminate having to...

    RAF PHOTO CONTEST WINNERS

Obviously not a part of said contest. The Piper J-3 "Flitfire" In April 1942, Piper and its US dealer network built and donated 49 silver J-3 Cubs. Sold to civilian buyers, 100% of the proceeds went to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Also not an engineer... Based on several plans that I possess or have studied where the same exact airframe (Heath, Pietenpol, Expiramental Cub) had optional engine installations that had differing degrees of engine offset... This says it better than I could...

Fold wings to 100in or drop and fold to 92in?

The federal 102" legal limit only applies on federally maintained highways. Many US states and subdivisions thereof have narrower legal limits. I don't know if yours is a practical or legal concern. A decade ago when I had to deal with these limitations at least weekly 96" was common. And if...
