    sonerai II stretch build question

Speaking of rollover protection, I built a 2 from 75-80 and never gave it any thought. But since then, I’ve become concerned about it. Specifically, if you do go over on your back in a low wing, even if you have the protection of the turtledeck hoop, hopefully the canopy has not shattered and...

Discussion thread: A stronger RV nosegear

On its first flight, my TW with an RV6 nose gear had a fuel starvation engine failure. I came down in a 1ft high alfalfa field, landed on the mains, the nose wheel came down 12 feet later. The nose wheel dug in, the gear leg deformed aft into a nice smooth180 degree half circle, without...

DOES A ZENITH CARB REQUIRE A FUEL PUMP??

It was running fine. Then it sat for a year or two. Then it wouldnt run smoothly. I wanted an injector carb, so that was the excuse i needed. I took it off, soaked it in a pail of carb cleaner. Now its in parts and i probably wont ever put it back together. Ill have to check the model. Came off...

Pretty interesting canopy setup. On my frst 2 the canopy opened upward and then rolled back on a small wheel which rolled backwards on the spine of the turtle deack. Worked slick but no one else seemed to think it was neat, ha.

    Question for new Sonerai owner

JD. I built a Sonerai 2 from 1975-1980 and had the same engine on it, new from Monnett. A new prop wont help, you need a new engine! That 60 was ok for one person but it would not cruise over 120 mph, if that. With a 120 lb passenger, it took me 15 minutes to get to traffic pattern altitude...

Just curious??? If I choose to part out my sonerai 2 airplane thats complete would anybody be in need of parts?

I have a Sonerai 2 that I took in trade for my other airplane. I’d like to see it go to a good home. Housebroken, eats little, might need a recover, then assembly and tender loving care. Probably take a year of work. I did run the engine when I first got it. It has been a flying airplane in the...
