    Just do the inside curves first then do the outsides to thickness. Neck angles take your time with. the Cherokee II has sawn ply frames in the fuselage too, laminated to solid wood.

    The wing on a Cherokee II is sawn plywood ribs and solid spars, when designing wood structures you benefit from using wood in compression, not shear. I’m a cabinet maker/Luthier and when I brace an instrument I brace against compression.

    Spoke with Neal the other night, he has already sent me the plans. I picked up the ply for replacement ribs. Now I just need a printer that answers the phone. I’m guessing after the weekend things will get normal and I can get the J2 plans scanned also, he is going to add them to the archives

    Thanks for the kind words. When the surgeon was taking me in for the emergency spinal surgery, he said I would probably never walk again, so I became a senior ski patrol instructor while beating cancer three times and running my carpentry/painting business. Still go to work every day.
