    Power to weight ratio !

I was discussing here about power to weight ratio. It seems to be pretty vague to me. How is it really calculated ? I used full power and full weight when defining A2D Skyshark power to weight ratio. What is it usually ? Is it the best power to weight ratio on take off with full load ( as...

Crossing the Atlantic Ocean with a homebuilt jet or an electric aeroplane.

I wish there was a prize for this category. I am talking about under 3 000 kg flyweight aircraft....not Virgin Galactic Global Flyer nor Voyager kinda behemoths. Why this is here is that I'd like to discuss what new we have to invent what we don't yet have ? I refer to the speech of JFK at Rice...

Any way to make those so called aerobatic planes any safer ?

They have huge engine and travel 400+ km/h. Wing foil creates almost no lift (half of a campered foil). Am I on wrong tracks or am I right ?

    1 000 km/h speed with a prop plane ?!

Tu-95 goes 925 km/h ...Rare Bear reached 850 km/h. What would it take to get that last 100 mph velocity before the speed of sound ? 620 mph = 1000 kmh. Speed of sound is at 761-767 mph and 1225-1235 km/h. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_of_sound...

    Aircraft pricing !?

I am somewhat surprised that a popular 2 seater high wing electric AC that hardly flies an hour costs $200 000 or more today. I figure I could double the range in a homebuilt of a one seater under 30 000 dollars. Where does the price come from .....generally ?

How big a role the Reynolds number plays in the aeroplane design ? I mean is 300 000 how much less than 2 000 000 ? Can it be described somehow ?
