    That would be in an extremely rural area near the falls. yes that area is on the cumberland plateau, the plateau is about 1000ft above the surrounding areas. Not sure you could attract any retirees to that area, certainly no business types that could commute to like Chattanooga. I used the map...

    I was by the area last week i live about an hour away..it is supposed to be located just off of US 127. I can see nothing from that road of anything being cleared so far. certainly no runway area cleared out.I tried to match the area and road based on the full 2 page ad I think was in AOPA...

    Go for it. You are retired ,can do what you want.What else would you do for the year instead? Just remember classes and learning not as easy as when we were in our teens and twenties.     yeah, even aircraft spruce charges a lot or maybe its the UPS. I live about 3 hr from their Peachtree GA site and still some times drive and the gas cheaper then shipping but of course the time wasted when traveling. i usually try to stop in when traveling in area.

    Where Do You Build?

    Well if it your hanger and you are renting it out your call. The airport would prefer a finished working plane that at a minimum needs fuel occasionally so they can make money. Have been at hangers on a field where boats,Rv and other things are stored with no aircraft ever seen in it.
