    Attn all VW users

I am running a Revmaster 2100D in my KR2S with a 4 to 1 exhaust and it runs pretty normal.

    SDS EFI 30th Anniversary

I have been flying a KR2S with a Revmaster 2100D with dual SDS ignition for over a year trouble-free. Love my ignition and would recommend it to anyone interested in one.

VW Kubota Dynamo or John Deere Alternator Mount

I am running my Revmaster 2100D with two SDS electronic ignitions and I love this setup. I got rid of that heavy magneto that the engine came with. The sparks from these ignitions are very strong consuming less than one amp of power. The SDS ignition can run both ignition modules from one...

    VW Carb options/ opinions

I have a Revmaster 2100 on my KR2S and I use an Aerocarb injector. It does have a tendency for the throttle to stick and I nurse it to ensure that the throttle responds correctly. I am considering changing it to a Revflow which should take care of the sticky throttle issue.

Freebird free downloadable plans for improved KR2S

I own a KR2S and our group is the one generating the Freebird plans. The airplane builds off of the original KR design with a longer body and offers new generation wings. This new generation KR derivative offers the choice of VW, Corvair, O-200, Jabiru, and other engines popular today in the...

    Voltage Regulator for Revmaster 2100D

I have a CPS regulator installed in my Revmaster but I see that CPS is no longer in business (I know they want you to order through Aircraft Spruce). I am looking to replace this regulator with a motorcycle regulator. I am looking at Harley Davidson regulators capable of handling at least 20A...

Airplane For Sale Team MiniMax 1550V project For Sale

I got to fly a Mini-Max 1600R with a Rotax 447 engine and it was a blast... the only thing I did not like was the fact that the max airspeed was 75 MPH and it is what it is... full-span ailerons that turn on a dime... landing speed felt like a brisk walk. I loved that little airplane.

    electronic ignition? magneto retrofit?

My SDS Electronic ignition on my KR2S with a Revmaster engine works great and my advanced timing is controlled by the computer. Regarding Aircraft vs automotive plugs, SDS sells the adopters that basically screw into the heads. My heads were already tapped for automotive plugs.

    SDS Ignition

Update... I installed the SDS Electronic Ignition in my KR2S Revmaster engine and it's the best decision I ever made. The engine starts in about a revolution or so and runs very smoothly. Though at this time I have not run it up to full power, I am amazed at how smoothly it accelerates through...

    KR 50th Anniversary Celebration

We probably can't say much about the flying boat but there are volumes to be said about a VW or Corvair wood and fiberglass airplane capable of carrying two people at speeds in excess of 145 MPH and some with the bigger Corvair engine at speeds in excess of 175 MPH, some flying close to 200 MPH...

    KR 50th Anniversary Celebration

The KR is really almost a total redesign from the original. With the new wing, wider cockpits, and longer fuselage, it's a much faster, slicker design. The new engines are now taking that airframe right up to 200MPH. My KR has the 75HP Revmaster with the new 049 heads. I love this design.

    KR 50th Anniversary Celebration

I just wanted to mention that this year is the KR1 and KR2 50th Anniversary since Ken Rand and Stu Robinson first introduced this great airplane design at Oshkosh in 1972. We, the builder community put together a video commemorating the KR design, and you can watch it at the link below... Enjoy

Current state of Great Plains Aircraft?

Update on Great Plains... A fellow KR2S builder ordered the accessory case with alternator and starter and received it a week or so ago. As of two seeks ago we can attest that they are still in business...
