    Chinook WT 11 Wings

Hello. I'm looking at a Chinook WT 11. It uses a sort of warp wing instead of ailerons. Replacement sails can't be found and no one wants to make a replacement. So, my thought is to rebuild the wing using new ribs and a flaperon. Could I simply copy the rib system from another ultralight? I...

    rebuilding Chinook WT-11 wing. help!

I know this is an old post, but how did it work out? I'm looking at one myself, but new sails can't be found. So, because of the warp wing design, the only option I can see is to use the spars and build conventional ribs with a flaperon.

    Talos AHRS

Hello Rather than build an ultralight, I'm considering buying a used one. Of those I find, they have panels containing instruments already in place. I would like to use an AHRS from Talos Aviation, which requires an input from the pitot tube. My question is if I proceed, can I put a tee in...

    Kolb Mark III question

I see they are a taildragger. Are they prone to ground loop like some tailwheel aircraft e.g. the Luscombe?

Ultralight or wait to see if the FAA makes changes in the next few years that will allow me to fly again?

After even more obsession/research, I have discovered that unless one of a couple of things happens, the only way I can be legal and fly is to fly an ultralight or fly a glider. The only way I can fly light sport right now is if I go back for another physical and pass, but then I might as well...

Ultralight or wait to see if the FAA makes changes in the next few years that will allow me to fly again?

I've been thinking really hard about this, and this may be the way to go. No medical and I can avoid some of the restrictions placed on a light sport pilot. This is me, scratching my chin...

Ultralight or wait to see if the FAA makes changes in the next few years that will allow me to fly again?

Western Washington State. I would restrict my flying to the low lands and only CAVU days. I'm not going to push it. I just want to enjoy the feeling again. Ultracruiser is just one option. I have seen ads for Fisher ultralights and some minimax. While I know there is peace of mind in knowing how...

Ultralight or wait to see if the FAA makes changes in the next few years that will allow me to fly again?

As I read the rules with my law school glasses on, technically my last physical was a deferral and not a denial. Even though it's now nearing 30 years ago, it still shows up in the FAA system as a deferral. They never issued a formal denial. Reading the federal code, as long as my last physical...

Ultralight or wait to see if the FAA makes changes in the next few years that will allow me to fly again?

Technically, my medical is still deferred with the FAA from the early 1990's. It was never listed as revoked or denied or suspended. They still show it in deferred status. A small thing I know, but I've learned in law school that words mean things. Anyhow, I don't want to go to the doctor and...

Ultralight or wait to see if the FAA makes changes in the next few years that will allow me to fly again?

OK, I hold a private license, but I haven't flown in about 30 years. The last medical exam I took was in the early 1990's and it was deferred due to a kidney stone history. The AME wanted me to go see a urologist and get a lot of records none of which I followed up with. I haven't had a kidney...
