Basic Configuration for a "Safe" airplane

Beside how would that semi automatism help recover from strange attitudes? imho the main thing is training. and staying aware of things. all planes have their own character.

    Raptor NG Discussion

Some observations. 1) a negative relation between quality 3D animations multiplied with years before the real thing exist and actual performance and actual production. "Game changers" and alike used words seems to bring bad luck. Observations of many projects, not only PM's . remarkable is...

Basic Configuration for a "Safe" airplane

Its very relative. I think the question should go along with "What is a safe airplane for me" .

Basic Configuration for a "Safe" airplane

I agree , when talking about what caused the situation. But beside fatal accidents also accidents with injuries , long life disabilities etc are important to prevent.

Basic Configuration for a "Safe" airplane

Fatal trauma due impact seems logic to rank as number 1. What options are left?

Must have been a Cumulonimbus , also very dangerous for big planes .

Basic Configuration for a "Safe" airplane

IMHO a safe airplane is an honest and forgiving airplane but showing you if you near the limits. Stallable and spinable , but with good recovery without the needs for tricks. enough stable, not nervous but still responding direct and acceptable roll rate. For normal piston engines I think...

    Raptor NG Discussion

I dont care about (PM's) finance, all his brochures, photoshops, prmisses etc etc says enough. Someone who invest should check. His whole language is the same as those who sell parts of plantages, condos etc and promise 30% / year . That the performance of raptor one were a joke, well no need...

Fools Rush In - bonding, especially Aluminum

BD4 has a circular round tube as spar taking most of the torsion , a pipercub has two spars which together take care of the torsion, Limiting a structur to the strength of the bondage and not to the bonded parts means the parts are over dimensioned . Now many parts are anyway overdimensioned...

Fools Rush In - bonding, especially Aluminum

aluminium oxide doesnt 'bond' to aluminium it self. so bonding to aluminium oxide can be done but that wont bond to the aluminium part itself. anodizing creates a layer which 'bonds' both to aluminium and the resin cq adhesive, but the quality depends on the crystal forming due anodizing. It...

Fools Rush In - bonding, especially Aluminum

pressure was related to the bonding part. nothing todo with the anodizing part itself

Fools Rush In - bonding, especially Aluminum

Indeed, Against fatigue I like GLARE, or the idea of it. but for skin on ribs and spar I think it will be hard to do if you want a real bonding but possible . I talk about high loaded constructive parts.

Fools Rush In - bonding, especially Aluminum

Aluminium must be anodized so its surface has another oxide layer which does bond. not only the anodizing process but also pressure and temperature are important. IMHO you need lot of equipment

EAA No Longer Has Free SolidWorks

FreeCad is quite standard for a 3D program. and runs also on linux. Just download and run. I'm curios how to connect it to aerodynamic and structural analysis modules.

it happens by definition because the very low tension strength of concrete compared to the pressure strength. you also calculate them and check if they are within limits
