    Anti-ice for experimental.

What I thought when opening the topic was not to fly into the ice or try to copy something that exists in general aviation for experimental purposes and does not apply to conventional air-cooled engines, only to liquid-cooled ones to use what they most It has (hot liquid) for something more than...

Why is GA continuing its demise?

Good price for a brand new and ready to fly airplane. If the rules change a little these airplanes could be a good trainers for flight school and help the industry to recovery instead of use the 40 year old average Cessnas 152.

Why is GA continuing its demise?

I mentioned the icon A5 because its initial idea was to be a plane that wouldn't need an airport, it could be towed on a trailer and stored on any driveway at zero cost, I don't know if anyone made this use of this plane, because who has 400k to buy it one is not worried about the cost of...

Why is GA continuing its demise?

This is the problem that Icon tried to solve with the A5, but based on the sales results, this is not the real problem of general aviation, I still bet on the cost of the new plane, if Icon had managed to be cheap perhaps the story would be different. You have to be passionate about aviation to...

Why is GA continuing its demise?

Thinking this way might explain why Cirrus and Diamond are the only ones that continue to sell piston planes. Slow planes end up being objects of leisure and training, fast planes are more useful for long trips that is supposed the reason for have an airplane. Gyrocopter could be the best...

Why is GA continuing its demise?

Many pages of debate could be summarized in a basic thought, if the percentage of people who want to fly or have their own plane were equal to the number of people who can pay the absurd prices charged for aviation, general aviation would grow again. I'm sure a lot of people give up on the idea...

    EZ30 Turbo Powered RV-8

Did you notice some oil pression decrease after install the oil squirters? What are the squirter outlet diameters?

    EZ30 Turbo Powered RV-8

For one side someone says that the coat eliminates hot spots, for other side someone says that the coat don't dissipate heat and keep it in combustion chamber increase the chances of detonation, looks the best of 2 worlds would be the combustion chamber mirror polished that reflect some part of...

    EZ30 Turbo Powered RV-8

What about piston polishing or top ceramic coats, helps or harm the detonation probability? I'm already adding the oil squirters in mine engine block, mine is a EZ36.

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

That was precisely the objective in asking the question, to bring together points of view, opinions and observe questions and logical thoughts that often someone who is deluded by an idea ends up not having, what will perhaps weigh on this decision is the fact of actually reducing reliability...

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

This is a good argument against TBW, the possibility of failure are greater, for me the use of OEM ECU is discarded, they was made for cars and not more. At the beginning I was decided to use a conventional cable throttle body, but a question appears in my mind, why not? It's not a desision made...

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

I can't see where are the extra weight with TBW, where are the complexity of take some existent part that weight no more than 30g the other option and plug the sensor to ECU and the ECU to throttlebody? These components add super extra weight? I don't have any idea what kind of equipment the...

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

If is unuseful why the modern boats are using? The engine operation in a boat is very similar with aircraft. Everything are getting updated with electronic management like boats, cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, helicopters, airliners jets, executive jets, the exceptions are the camping...

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

You can protect your engine from overspeed without monitoring rpm everytime you pitch down the aircraft, have more smooth acceleration, future will be opened for an auto-throttle system and for auto-convertions cost almost the same than a cable throttle body, but with much more simple assembly.

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

I think the original ECU only works for the car and Vin number that were produced.

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

Intuition will always be toward the cable, perhaps that's why Viking engines use it, but the benefits of drive by wire and the convenience of having one less hole in the firewall are really drawing me in that direction, the packaging is much more It's easy, just put everything inside the...

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

That is the point that made me think about, the cost and simplicity, the cable throttle body is cheaper, but you have to think about cable route and you have a new item to inspect and lubricate regularly.

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

And there is the possibility of use 2 sensors in parallel and also there are the solid state sensors that was much more reliable than that use regular potentiometers. I liked also of the possibility you create soft engine reaction and limitate the max rpm. The limp mode could be a minimum rpm to...

Are someone using drive by wire Throttle body in aircraft?

I'm developing a subaru ez36 for aircraft, I studied this option because some stand alone ECUs can work with redundant accelerator sensor for the case of one of they fail and with drive by wire I can limitate de max rpm only closing the throttle valve in ECU program instead of cut off ignition...
