    Metamorphic Wings

Interesting concept for sure, as for being the future....let's wait for a bit.

Is it a question of proportions? Water hull shape and water handling?

We kinda did, back in the day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piaggio_P.7

    Flying Pictures; Post Yours

LZTT, high Tatras in the background. No, that's not my plane (sadly). Over Hungary towards LQBK. Around noon the next day over Hungary - again - from LQBK to LZKZ. The river is the Danube.

    It's Official from Garmin.

Thanks for that, got any link to this news? Edit: nevermind, found it. It seems that it "might" still be fixed as long as they have the parts available, and the article mentions the displays are no longer available. https://www.avweb.com/aviation-news/garmins-gns-430-530-sunset-takes-another-step/

    Foldable, collapsible structures

That's what happened to my Kolb just when I stopped at my airfield. The pin holding the wings in place next to the rudder gave up and both wings scraped the leading edge on the trailer. The guy who built it used a cheap, hollow piece of metal for the pin instead of a strong one. All considered I...

    Foldable, collapsible structures

Greetings all, after one too many beers I had another stroke of genius (isn't that what beer is for, after all?). How hard would it be to take a design like the venerable Quicksilver and make the structure foldable or at least ready to be assembled/disassembled in a few minutes so as to fit...

A narrow, six cylinder that can drive from both ends?

Then the best solution would probably be an engine with opposed pistons like the diesel Junkers.

What Did You Do To Save General Aviation Today?

I finally got my first ultralight, a Kolb Mk 2. Pics soon (hopefully).

What Skills to Fly the Stewart S-51 Mustang?

My suggestion would be to get a ride in the real thing if possible and see for yourself - with a qualified pilot, of course. If there are none available get a ride in a real P-51, the Stewart replica should be reasonably similar. According to the report you posted the ship does not seem to have...

FAA Advises Using Analog NAVAIDS In Spoofing Areas

They certainly do, if they're not dismantled or decommissioned. How about a bubble sextant? https://sextantbook.com/category/aircraft-bubble-sextants/

Thinking about developing a new engine for GA, but looking for a bit of feedback before starting.

Aside from new concepts in mind, why not looking at what the other did to succeed and what they did wrong which shut them down? And instead of starting from a great idea why not starting from the actual requirements needed for airplanes and try to incorporate your super-duper idea in it? Your...

    Thoughts/experiences on financing an airplane

I have other questions to the OP as well. Will you rent your plane to other students and pilots too? Did you ask around to see if they would be interested? If there a solid interest in renting it I would say go for it. In other words, try to generate some cash flow from it.

What's the purpose of those small winglets on top of the rudder? Better lateral stability perhaps?

    Horrible news from Vans Aircraft

That's mostly due to that particular plane being out of production, certified and highly desirable. Not the same for Vans.

    Chinese military gyros

I suppose a case could be made for diverting enemy resources somewhere else. The German V1 was appallingly bad, but it forced the Brits to divert resources needed at the front and it was pretty cheap to mass produce. Swarms of these could have a similar effect.

    Chinese military gyros

Good idea? I'm certainly not a military expert but while there are some good point to this, it looks more like a suicide mission than anything else. I guess it depends on who your opponent is and what type of weapons it has.
