    Soloed in Hi-Max!

Google the following number on Amazon. This is a 12 volt lithium battery that only weighs 2 pounds. I have two on a couple of 503 ultralights and they work great. They won't lose voltage if they sit for a long time and they will spin the heck out of the engine. MMG YTZ14S Z14S

Glad to have found you guys!

VB, we used 4130 tubing. 3/4"x.058" for the front tube (about 30" long). The rear tube (about 32" long) and cross brace is 3/4"x.058". Upper cross brace is 1/2" tubing. Axle is 5/8" inserted into 3/4"x.058" tubing. We didn't make a jig. Just cut and fitted. Tack it and have it welded up. Might...

Glad to have found you guys!

I ordered the gear from Stace Schrader probably 6 years ago or so. I was a little reluctant ordering it as it appeared Rocky Mountain Wings was falling by the wayside. But he came through. He had some guy making the gear and it all worked out. The front leg of this gear is 30" from the fuse down...

Glad to have found you guys!

Picture of my Skyraider and my model B-29. I now run a 3-blade PowerFin on the Skyraider. Much smoother and pulls great.

Glad to have found you guys!

Your temps are perfect, don't change a thing. If your were too rich you would get some "bumping" in cruise but if you are not getting that you are fine. You could also look at your plugs and I think you will find them a nice tan color. 400 should be max with 350 a little too lean for my liking...

How do you tune the engine?

I have a Skyraider 1 which is the same airframe as the Ridge Runner. I installed a 503 and needed about 20 pounds in the tail to balance. All up weight is 430 pounds. Running a 62" PowerFin 3 blade. Pitched to attain 6250 on takeoff. Have tried a couple of two blades and the 3 blade performs...

Want Battery Recommendation for Rotax 503

As I stated earlier, I have a couple of Lithium LiFePO4 batteries in two Rotax 503 powered aircraft. The 503s have the Ducati ignition and charging system and I have flown both airplanes a lot over the last 3 years and have had no issues at all. I just get in the plane, crank, and fly. The...

Want Battery Recommendation for Rotax 503

Victor Bravo, I have a 503 both in my Skyraider and my Sportster. Both have a Battery Tender lithium battery. They are rated at 14 amps and 240 CCA. They were about $110 three years ago from Amazon and weigh a little under 2 pounds. They spin the heck out of the 503 and have never given any...

Any RidgeRunner 2/3 or SkyRaider 2 aircraft near East TN?

Marc, thinking about the seating situation I went out this morning and took some more measurements. My seat cushion is about 5" thick. Taking it out gives you over 33" to top of window. Sitting in it now my eye level is about 7" below top of window. Get a 1" high density foam cushion and you...

Any RidgeRunner 2/3 or SkyRaider 2 aircraft near East TN?

I have the Skyraider 1. Seat bottom to top of window is about 29". I'm 5'11" and my eye level is about 3" below top of window. Plenty of leg room. Very comfortable.

Any RidgeRunner 2/3 or SkyRaider 2 aircraft near East TN?

Hi! I have some personal experience with the Skyraider having owned three of them and am flying one now. Mine has tall gear that I ordered from Stace Schrader some years back. I also have big tires and disc brakes that I got from a guy in SC. We have also built a tall gear for a friend using the...

    Replacing Force One seal?

Marc W-Oil can leak between the inside of the Force One hub and the crankshaft. Remove bolt on end of crank and coat washer and bolt with oil resistant silicone and retorque.

Low and Slow. Something safe to fly possibly based on the Volmer Jensen 23 hang glider. Any info on suitable airframe plans please ?

Don't know what airfoil the Dream Classic has but I did have the standard 30.5' wing.

Low and Slow. Something safe to fly possibly based on the Volmer Jensen 23 hang glider. Any info on suitable airframe plans please ?

I have flown two Dream Classics. One was mine and one belonged to a friend. Both had 447s. Although they looked like they would be nice flyers I didn't like the way they flew. Spent a lot of time on CG, rigging, wash out, etc. Never got it to where I liked the way it flew. Best way to land it...

    Replacing Force One seal?

We just pulled one off a couple of weeks ago. It's pretty hard to get off. You need a 3 jaw puller and we used 3 pieces of angle iron behind the flange to spread the load. The angle iron pieces are 1.25" and they are 4" long. Put a lot of pressure on it and hit it with a big hammer. We've had it...

We made a gear out of 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 5' 2024 aluminum from Spruce. Wheelbarrow wheels...they work ok but really needed balancing.
