    Tandemwings and CG range

Koen, have you considered the Durand Mark V in some reduced form? Bill Durand presented some thoughts about the benefits around CG and landing characteristics. Has anyone here had actual experience with the Mark V?

I was collecting a few Teenie Two images and noticed the unusual wing shape in the background, may be an illusion, distorsion...... anyone know?

    Sadler Vampire

Ivan Shaw has built his ISA 180 Seeker which looks very much like the Sadler, but has been designed for much higher performance. I saw on flightradar that an initial short test flight has occurred as well.

Thoughts on folding or removable wings for keeping a plane at home

The wing overlay may be a point some may quiz over. The wing overlay is depicted as if in a vertical position, straight down. But remember...... the wing bottom edge is tilted upward about 30 degrees, so in this elevation view the bottom wing surfaces will be well above ground level.

Thoughts on folding or removable wings for keeping a plane at home

I have built my linear slide pivot assemblies for installation on my Challenger I leading edges. Next step is constructing the 36" x 1/2" round tube wing support saddle which mounts on the 2" x 2" frame just in front & centered on the leading wing spars. Each slide weighs 3.8 lbs. After...

Twin Prop Small Craft Single Engine Plane Design Comments

Apparently these propulsion designs have been failures. I wonder why. Both props rotating in same direction on yellow, uncertain on the FK-11. Funk history site says: "This airplane was intended to optimize the efficiency of propeller aircraft, as it made it possible to achieve astonishing...

    Ron Dixon and the Minicoupe

Sorry, I did not realize that the large clear photos that I attached were reduced to a low quality format when uploaded. The details are thus not possible to see.

    Ron Dixon and the Minicoupe

This photo shows the underside from rear landing gear forward. He has a hinged panel evidently for access to landing gear bolts, etc. Note his flat oval footstep bar extending to the left front wing area. You cannot see the drilled exhaust ports along the leading edge of the tailpipes. He...

    Ron Dixon and the Minicoupe

I looked at this one this week. I think it is very well built. Note the landing gear change. The engine mounting is beefy. Prop start. Hand grips at cowling ahead of fuel filler and top of canopy bow, step in front of wing for climbing up and over after starting. It has flown one pattern...

    Daniel Dalby (APEV) Staggerchel

I tried zooming in on the Staggerchel construction board plan, but cannot discern the general dimensions of the plane. Has anyone come across a table of dimensions, etc?

Explanation for this S-14 tail tab modification please

This is the tail of a Rans S-14. Having no experience while considering a purchase, I am asking what performance conditions required the addition of the rather large right side elevator trim tab. In addition, what corrective step(s) in constructing the craft would have mitigated its use...

    Raptor Composite Aircraft

Safety and competence are good and worthy of praise. Encouragement is priceless and somewhat rare for continuing in many worthwhile endeavors. "High Profile" is indeed what the Raptor project has become. From my very inexperienced aviation perspective I admit I have been keen to watch his...
