    Airplane For Sale Bucker Bestmann

As a teenager I thought James Garners escape in a Bestmann was hands down greater than Steve McQueens motorcycle jump in the film, The Great Escape. Here’s some Bestmann projects available.

    Airheart brake cylinders

From the Metro Racing web page… “This kit is equipped with Buna N seals, therefore it is for use with Mineral (Red) fluid” Which is 5606 aviation fluid, the fluid in my brake system. Then I’ll place an order today! Thanks you guys

    Airheart brake cylinders

Thanks for all the leads, I’ve got some homework to do. I suspect the bores and pistons should be in pretty good shape. They haven’t been subject to water splash. I really like preserving these, as I think there not only cool looking, the ground handling is really nice. I’ll report how it goes.

    Airheart brake cylinders

I can’t find rebuild kits, or even NOS, Hurst Airheart brake cylinders. I would love to install rebuild kits in mine and fly many more years. There’s some brake cylinder options in the go kart world that look close to drop in compatible. Also, I believe I could find the correct cup and quad...

How prevalent is corrosion in C85’s?

There are two inspection ports in each wing, outer sections. And multiple trailing edge drains are at every low spot. And a large removable service panel under the seats. I couldn’t find any discolored wood anywhere except a small area on one vertical panel in the tail. I did this inspection...

How prevalent is corrosion in C85’s?

Thanks Dan, those are areas I intended to look at. The airplane is a Jodel, all the wood looks excellent under inspection covers and inside the tail.

How prevalent is corrosion in C85’s?

I’m looking at a very nice EAB with a clean looking C85. My concern is the plane has not flown frequently in the last few years. It’s in a hanger, but the temp and dew point are close a lot of the time. When I visited this week, condensate was all over the exterior of the airplane, but inside...

What is your interest and/or experience with homebuilt airplanes?

Curious to know from people who haven't shared much, what is your interest and/or experience with homebuilt airplanes? Summer 1965, I discovered an original design, Corvair powered airplane project in a neighbors garage. That builder led me to a CFI intro, and solo on my sixteenth birthday, in a...

Parts For Sale Wag Aero Sport Trainer plans

I bought this drawing set from Wagner around the mid 1980’s, I’ve not built anything using them. Wagner issued s/n is 1578 for the base set, sheets 1-15. I also purchased at that time, the supplement drawings - “Alternate fuel system“, “Typical electrical system“, ”Cubby observer”, “Wing rib...

    runway incline

Sorry I don’t have formulas to offer. North of you in the Gorge, are two steep one way strips. Key Way, near Stevenson, and Port Elsner near Husum. Both are private owned, and from my drive by observation, fairly steep one way strips. Years ago I met Bernie Elsner in the Hood River FBO coffee...

Cut down my trees or not?

I get it, I’m 70, ran out of capacity for amazement of bureaucrat idiocy a few years ago. After a lifetime in the desert Southwest, I am amazed to see Sitka Spruce standing, and even more, logs apparently there for the taking.

Cut down my trees or not?

I’ve enjoyed lurking on HA.com for over a year, but this is my first post. I’ve lived on the southern Oregon coast for the last three years. Across US 101 from me, I occasionally see Oregon state park workers cutting hundreds of young Sitka Spruce and DF to “open up the view“ in Samual Boardman...

SF-2A Cygnet For Sale in SoCal - FLY it Home Today

Claude, thanks for that great inspection report. I’m very impressed with what I know about the SF-2A, and have been standing back to not interfere with your interest in this plane. If you don’t mind saying, what’s your height and inseam length?
