Crashes in the News - Thread

Even if the instructor could take over, stall recovery from 100 feet (+- 33 meters) with 3 onboard a C172, I think makes the crash a foregone conclusion. Erik in Oz.

Sold 2A042 engine, Teledyne mil. surplus, flown on Mini-Max - SOLD

I have a 4A-084 engine in my shed with a hub on. I bought it from someone in the US with the hub already on it, so can`t say who made it. Short of removing the hub from the crank, I can take measurements/photos of it, should it be of any help. Erik in Oz.

    Rotor revolution

....Sigh..... Oh boy. Something about leading a horse to the water, comes to mind.....

    Rotor revolution

Yip, and the sad thing is that each and every one of those designers/builders thought their particular machine is going to revolutionise air travel. Erik in Oz.

The concept of flapping flight will eventually succeed!

Dear Friends A passenger-carrying flapping wing aircraft was already in existence in WW2. It's name is Dakota DC3....😁😁 (fly in one and look out the window if you don't believe me) Erik in Oz.

Any Thoughts on EVERYTHING ON switch for take-off, landing, and emergencies at low alttitude?

Ditto. What is not there, weighs nothing and cannot break. Seems to me too many things that can go wrong trying to fix things that can go wrong. Erik in Oz.

    Scaled Jets (F-16)

Yip, and I wouldn't mind seeing the pseudo jets that the rockthowers designed, built and flown.... Me thinks there are not many. Erik in Oz.

    Jurca MJ9 or 3/4 scale ME109

Not sure what went wrong there, but the gist is I want to trade plans for the 75% Mustang for a set of FW-190 plans. Erik in Oz.

    Jurca MJ9 or 3/4 scale ME109

Chaps, Not to intercept someone else`s thread, but I have an unused set of plans for the 3/4 scale Mustang that I wouldn`t mind trading for a set of Focke-Wolf FW-190 plans. The Mustang plans include both the wood and metal versions. My plans are in the hanger at the airport, so it would take...

    Yet Another Airborne Camper

I have been waiting for someone to name the ultimate in airborne and off-road camping plane, and NOBODY mentioned the Antonov AN-2, Colt in NATO speak. There must be a gazzilion of them parked and abandoned at old military fields across Russia, Poland, Eastern Europe, and Africa. Cheap to buy...

    Yet Another Airborne Camper

VB, I like the idea of one engine driving multi props, BUT.....if the engine fails for what-ever reason, you are a glider pilot. No second or fourth engine to carry you to the site of the accident. Erik in Oz.
