    The Fields Luxury fly-in Resort

The Latitude and Longitude place it in the valley, right alongside Highway 127 (State Hwy 28). The map on their web site puts it there too. It's right behind Bethel Church of Christ. Haven't been there in a long time, so I can't say if any progress has been made.

    Use MOGAS? Watch This

I can see that for floats or an otherwise tall aircraft that's difficult to reach. But the flow rate for those things isn't very good. Flow rate was what I liked most about that can, so I'd probably opt for what he does in the video. But that's just my personal preference. YMMV

    Use MOGAS? Watch This

He has another video on gas cans. It's a comparison geared toward off-road vehicles, but it covers that utility jug (race can) he uses for his plane. The flow rate for those is much higher than a typical gas can. The hose/spigot is bought separately, and comes with plastic fittings, which he...

I see a lot of E-AB builds planned or in progress by sport pilots undergoing the same changes.

    MOSAIC Rule Change

Why would it take two years? It didn't the first time. For most manufacturers, it was just a paperwork exercise, because the kits already complied. They just had to document it.

So will experimentals, when you consider how many of them are built to LSA limitations.

    MOSAIC Rule Change

The FAA considers paying for fuel or upkeep to be a commercial transaction, and experimental aircraft are prohibited from commercial use. No instructor would want to take that kind of loss. That's why so many of us can't get instruction in the aircraft we fly, or want to fly, unless we already...

    MOSAIC Rule Change

I'm aware of all that, but I'm not talking about renting the aircraft. I'm talking about a CFI using their own E-AB aircraft to train others. And yes, I know you can argue the semantics of whether the aircraft is being rented in such a scenario. I just wish they would opt for common sense rather...

    MOSAIC Rule Change

Yes, it is. http://www.federalregister.gov/d/2023-14425 The big disappointment for me is 'aerial work', which includes training. Amateur built aircraft are still excluded. They say this is because they can't verify the aircraft design is sufficient for aerial work. I can see that for banner...

    Nomex flight suit?

Still have several Air Force nomex flight suits, but I think they all shrunk for some strange reason. Probably a laundry error of some sort. Still have my flight helmet and oxygen mask, but it's just a decoration and conversation piece. We never had nomex boots. I didn't know they even existed...

Crashes in the News - Thread

Technically, they're more sensitive in order to pick up weaker returns on targets at a greater distance. But they're far less discriminating, which I believe is what you meant to convey. Because they use longer wavelengths, they need a better return to pick up a target, so bigger, more...
