    DA11?

I have it. Well thumbed, but readable. Give me a day or three to dig it up. Feel free to remind end of week if you haven't heard.

    DA11?

Perhaps the largest consideration in the build. That drawing is top of the pile and gets studied often. I need to need to mock it up from cardboard tube to understand it, then start cutting and tacking.

Scale sandwich composite Honda jet build condensed to 14 minutes

It's structural adhesive, Ramy is not one to take shortcuts. Check out his channel for the recently flown C-17 build he completed at Tyler's shop. It still needs gear and paint/wrap, but is very impressive.

    Model airplane spars

Sounds like it's a Hostetler design. Aside from the brickishness, its looks are also a bit off to those that have ever seen a full-scale Cherokee. As are most of his designs actually. For some reason he changes outlines and shapes enough to be annoying to anyone familiar with the subject. In the...

Why is GA continuing its demise?

This happens with many interests, and you see these same conversations amongst their core enthusiasts. Not being involved in full-scale flying is purely financial for me, influenced by geography. When in California, the Luscombe I owned lived outside on a tiedown at SZP for $25/mo., fuel was...

    Horrible news from Vans Aircraft

Employee Stock Ownership Plan is the typical expansion of the ESOP acronym. I worked at a company that converted to ESOP, then back to private ownership a few years later. If Van's set up their ESOP in the same manner as most, there is no out-of-pocket purchase by employees, and shares accrue...

Noted, and yes it's in the material listing of the plans as -T351.

Models Begging to be Scaled Up

The manufacturer calls it a Turner W4X. It's one of a few heinous variations on classic raceplanes. Another equally vile creation in the same vein is the R3.

7075-T6 properties are fine, but I'm a little concerned about the cold bend.

    AND 10133 questions

The Davis DA-5. Those angles get cold bent five degrees at the fuselage sides, the webs trimmed to about half depth, and the caps taper in width. These angles extend to about two-thirds of the semispan. There they transition to caps that are extensions of the shear web, bent at 90 degrees.

    AND 10133 questions

-does anyone know of a midwest source for AND10133-2004? 2024-T351(1) alloy. I need two 10-12' lengths. -the design specifies 2024-T351. A few places have only 2024-T3511, which has slightly lower properties in some categories. Would this be safe to substitute for spar caps, or does this need...

Hi Henning, do you need that for the DA-2 or DA-5? I have DA-5 plans.

Does anyone know where the O'Hara P-38 went? I couldn't find anything searching online.

    Fans of the Davis DA-2...

It's marked as p.12, which I don't think is useful. The drawing shows the -1 and -3 fuselage skins on the left, and what appears to be some of the between v-tail skin arrangement on the right.

There are T-88 bottles in one of the wing photos. Doesn't prove anything, but might be useful.

    Fans of the Davis DA-2...

I have two DA-5 digital plans sets from two sources, one seemingly reputable, the other less so. Both sets are average quality scans, and identical in every respect, including the one page that was scanned with a fold concealing some needed data. If a source for Davis plans becomes available...

    912 in place of A-65

I'm not after climb specifically, but would bias that way rather than start running up to VNE with a cruise or speed prop.
