    What software do you use?

The translator that I have (it is made by Format Works, if anyone is interested) to go from Catia to Soid Works, or vice versa, just brings everything in as a dumb solid. Its just the same as if you had opened a step file, or something similar. All the translators that I have seen have worked...

    What software do you use?

Solidworks will import some Catia files, but only if the Catia user saves them with a .cgr (Catia Graphics) file extension. In order to get a regular .catpart or .catproduct file into SW, you have to have either a stand alone translator, or one that interfaces with SW. Either way can be quite...

    What software do you use?

I do alot of machine design for a living, mostly for the automotive industry. I primarily use Solidworks, but I have had the priveledge of using several of the other 3D cad packages that are out there. For what I do, its hard to beat Solidworks. I will agree with the others that it doesn't do...

    Manommeter for carbs

I've always used the straw in the cup of mercury type synchronizers that Wally mentioned. They work quite well, and I think I bought mine several years ago for around $40. You could make them very easily with some clear plastic tubes, and some mercury. And to clarify, it is fairly hard to...

    drill it needed

You can get an 18" long, 3/16 drill bit from Mcmaster Carr. Its part number 2955A11 . The cool thing about Mcmaster is that you'll probably have the day after you order it.

    Paul Lipps (designed) "elippse" propellers

    Paul Lipps (designed) "elippse" propellers

I've read Jack's book. It's worth reading if you are fascinated by propellers, how they, work, etc. but, it is different. Its hard to explain what I mean without reading it for youself. It was worth reading though and he does mention Lipps in it. If I remember right, he credits him for...

    Luscombe 8E Pilot reps?

I've got about 200 hours in an 8E, and I loved it. They are great flying little airplanes. It really bothered me when I sold it. The Luscombe really is a pilot's airplane. Many believe that the Luscombe was certified for aerobatics, but that is untrue. However, the CAA (former FAA) did...

    Lycoming O-360 Exhaust Port Dimensions

I got the mock up done today. This probably took me about 16 hours to do. It went through several iterations before I was happy with the fit and the primary length. I ended up with 30" primaries. They are all within an inch of each other in length.

    Lycoming O-360 Exhaust Port Dimensions

I was going to fab this thing up myself, but the material costs weren't that much cheaper than getting Aircraft Exhaust to do it. I got the PVC kit in the other day, and I am in the process of mocking up the system right now. I'll post some pics after I get everything mocked up, and after I...

    Lycoming O-360 Exhaust Port Dimensions

Dave, www.aircraftexhaust.net will send you a PVC pipe mockup kit, that you mock up on your airplane, then send back to them for duplication in 304SS for about $1500. You can get it in 321SS, but like you said, that is overkill. I have seen a few recommendations for them through various places...

    Lycoming O-360 Exhaust Port Dimensions

I am going to need to make a custom 4 into 1 exhaust system for my O-360 powered Acrosport II. I just can't bring myself to give someone else $1500 to do it. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had dimensions for the locations of all of the exhaust port studs on the engine. That way, I can make...

46 Luscombe 8E For Sale or Trade

Looks like a nice Ercoupe. My only recommendation is to advertise on www.barnstormers.com . I think the ad costs about $10 for 60 days. That is how I sold my Luscombe. From what I have heard, Trade a plane works well too, but it is expensive to advertise in. By the way, my location is...

46 Luscombe 8E For Sale or Trade

Percy, My Luscombe was not light sport elible, and I got $28,000 out of it. I gave 25K for it a couple years ago. It was a nice airplane, and that along with some luck got to sell as quick as it did. I don't know if congrats are in order or not. I watched my Luscombe fly away yesterday, and...

    Engines, engines, engines!

I should be in the market for either an O-360 or an IO-360 in the next couple of weeks. Do you still have any engines? I sent you an email also. Cameron
