Least expensive way to 200 + Hp ?

Yamaha. They are taking off with the sled motors and even Yamaha is starting to take notice as they too are looking at supplying an AC motor

    Local crash this morning

For the most part, at least grinder started out this way, others switched chasing the illusive YT #’s and revenue which is why I don’t respect them. Grinder claims no monetization on his channel

    Local crash this morning

Sadly, it's all about the #'s. I quit watching "taking off" and "blancolirio" as they saw the #'s they produced on aviation related subjects and then they saw the #'s on what covering an accident and or death produced and they shifted gears towards chasing the crashes. blancolirio even says...

    3-D PRINTED EXPERIMENTAL ?

They can rotomold the shape and inject a foam to add rigidity to it making it a plastic over foam rather than a glass over foam home built design.

    3-D PRINTED EXPERIMENTAL ?

It can be as strong as you design it and it's specific weight is not that heavy. It's just a thin layer of plastic, durable, somewhat abrasive resistance and fluid tight.

    3-D PRINTED EXPERIMENTAL ?

For all the work, cost, headache and such, why not just make a mold and have the plane rotomolded. It would be light, cheap and strong.

    Reno. 14-18 Sept. Who's going?

Exactly, it was good and clear, the grandstands were fairly full and if you were to look at the smaller grandstand with the Stihl group you'd think a party was happening

    Contra-Rotating Propellers

Your so far out there with this statement as they are 180° the opposite. The Volvo unit in the attachment uses a 600 hp diesel engine in front of the units. They are far to heavy and expensive for an aircraft that is HB

    V12 Alternatives

Your off by about 45 gallons. I use a Shadin digital fuel flow meter and it gives me between a 120 to 140 GPH burn rate depending upon how much I am loading them

Easier mould-making for a ultralight Low Aspect Ratio

This is a simple means to make a mold or a plug to make a mold off of. Formica sheets. They are thin, flexible and not very expensive (I feel if I had said cheap, well some cheap SOB would want to argue that point) The sheets are slick and thus make for a great surface to pull parts from as...

Crashes in the News - Thread

Oh, sorry. Show me the FAR where anyone has a "Legal Priority" to land and can run over anyone in the pattern. I think an insurance company also would like to see that FAR.

Crashes in the News - Thread

This is the exact thoughts and behavior that causes pattern friction. "I said it first so I've got Priority" in that just b/c you call final doesn't mean squat when your 10 miles away and everyone else is in the pattern. That's a IFR tactic and everyone was VFR so I don't buy it. I hear it all...
