    Gluing A Lamination

T-88 is a structural adhesive, I don't know if West Systems is. And a thin epoxy may result in a starved joint. If you are worried about timing mix small batches or use a U-Tah cartridge https://www.amazon.com/System-Three-1100K91-Cartridge-Bottle/dp/B005H1B56K I used the cartridge when gluing...

    t-88 mix ratio tolerance

Mixing in upside down soda cans a la the EAA video will save even more. I did my entire project (so far) with soda cans and T-88 U-tah cartridges

    T-88 bond line thickness

I'm not sure I understand how the CNC router is going to be used. One of the cabinet makers we use has a 5'X10' cnc panel router and is is terrific for cutting plywood and MDF sheet but it is never used to cut lumber to length. . Do you intend to cut the spruce longerons and struts to length...

    t-88 mix ratio tolerance

Yes, I forgot about the cartridges, they are terrific for larger and time comsuming glue ups. No mixing, just squeeze and go, premeasured and premixed. Expensive though almost 2X.

    T-88 bond line thickness

To be honest, I would not account for glue thickness and just make the part to whole or calculated numbers per plan. Moisture content, sanding, ruler and machine accuracy will all require a certain of hand fitting anyway. To get good glue bond I coated both part and didnt rush the assembly...

    t-88 mix ratio tolerance

EAA Video Player - Your Source for Aviation Videos Pretty tolerant. Watching the bottles is a good gut check to see you are not too far off, I do the same. I tend to run a little light on the thicker hardener. David N

Yes the print log function still works, of course there are no images for the last month. I did find this that may be an explanation. Rob Riggen | aviator. educator. coffee drinker

    Control cable lenght

Perhaps this is a stupid question, but how do I figure out the exact length of my control cables. Specifically if I am going to have Aircraft Spruce fabricate the cables with swagged ends? Should I do a mock up with spare cable and try and calculate the lenght of the fittings or is there some...

    Quality mild steel

When I had to Braze Stainless steel tube for my trim tab I used Harris Saftey-Silv 56, 56% silver, for regular steel to steel I used Harris #15 bronze rod. And yes, the silver is stupid expensive. David N

    Quality mild steel

The problem with 4130 is that some of the parts are to be brazed on and not welded and I believe 4130 should not be brazed. Thanks David N

    Quality mild steel

Some of the parts for my project call for mild steel not 4130 but in 1020, 14 -20ga thickness. The problem is I cannot find 1020 at sheet steel, plenty of 1020 DOM and 1/8" and above plate but nothing in the thinner gauges. Does any one know of an online supplier for quality mild steel? Thanks

    Fairlead Material

I am at the point of closing up the fuselage and need to add the control cable fairleads. My plans call for red fiber material, I am not even sure what that is but I am sure that there are more modern materials available i.e. nylon or UHMW plastics. I am looking for recommendations and...
