    You can mix and match durometer to create a variable rate. Aluminum disks between elements allow rubber to move. Nice thing with rubber is that it provides dampening.

    Here is one I am doing for nose gear. Zenith has similar for 701. Donut I made by pouring 50 duro shore A urethane. 3D printed the mold.

    You can try a company called Smooth-On. They have silicones and urethane of all different durometer. You would need to make a mould, 3D printing works good for that. Here are some landing gear donuts I am working with.

    My main beef with the design is getting in and out. I am looking at a slightly longer seating position and squaring the cockpit up. This would be more like a Headwind cockpit than the triangular shap it currently is.
