A solution looking for a problem

the ironic thing is that you can also use water and high explosive for creating door breachers, IED disruption and other such devices.

Boeing warns of possible electrical issue in some 737 MAX airplanes

they light up like a Christmas tree after starting the APU and then settle down but you do have to do a few resets.

Boeing warns of possible electrical issue in some 737 MAX airplanes

I'd say it has. Most homebuilders haven't a clue about preserving an aircraft because it simply doesn't enter their thought process. My experience of inspecting homebuilts is that they often suffer from neglect for want of even the most basic level of preservation.

Boeing warns of possible electrical issue in some 737 MAX airplanes

in the airline I work for, the A320 has suffered the following from being in storage, following the manufacturer's guidelines about blanking of inlets and so on; corroded main engine inlets, corroded thrust reverser panels, corroded pitot tubes, corroded brake units and even cracked avionics...

    Home Depot Plane

Perhaps this should be turned into a thread where people outline what use of non-traditional materials they have made or encountered on experimental and ultralight aircraft. 3-d printed parts? materials from cars? alternatives to fabrics? alternatives to glues? alternatives to 6061 T6 or 4130 steel?

New Optional Task-based Phase 1 Flight Test Program for E-AB

It doesn't have to turn into the testing of an F-16. Nor does it have to be reckless and the pilot blasts off into the sky with not a care in the world on his first flight. Strike a happy medium; no aerobatics on a first flight,no pulling g,no dives to Vne, wear a parachute if you feel the need...

    Airplane plans inventory

Jodel D9 in English, Affordaplane and Texas Parasol. The Jodel plans effectively assume a lot of fore knowledge and like so many plans of that era, don't really have build instructions. The Affordaplane plans and build manual are quite good but not drawn in the "traditional" engineering style...

    Sign of the times

The local airfield that I use was plagued with complaints from a couple who retired to a house across the road from the airfield. They were quite vocal about it and the wife used to jot down reg numbers and take photos and she complained about me one day, saying that I'd flown over her house...
