    10/23 Raptor Video

On this video PM said that he had to replace cracked pulley and belts on reduction unit. Major oil leak, piston connecting rod brake, turbine malfunction and now cracked pulley - isn't to much for just few dozen hours running the power plant?

Who know how this system will work in this aircraft with pusher prop in the back?

I understand this and understand that may be some resonance vibrations on certain RPM's. On our aircraft we have increase idle RPM's to 1600 and we're have to avoid ruining engine on 3400-3600 RPM's because of that. But i think Raptor didn't have that sound and such vibrations with old engine.

I did hear that "knocking" sound when engine at idle and notice vibrations on this video - this did't happened on video before engine replacement. Problem with the engine?

I don't know if he need to start new 40 hrs count with this engine swap, but isn't FAA required 60 hrs flying off if engine is not certified?

You're probably right - no real people there(California) to invest for production of Raptor! I think this is Peter new PR trick, same is a 1500 deposits 🤔

Peter many times said that weight problem will be solved when production of this KIT aircraft will begin in California🤔

I noticed the wing tip vibration and also the engine sound different at low RPM then old one.

    Electric Ducted Fan

Yes, I think this about our airplane. Nothing wrong of using auto engines on airplanes, particularly GM LS engines - they are very strong and design for sport cars. This engines also used in the race cars. We're also looking to use electric ducted fan in our PJ-II "Dreamer" too!

It's will be good time to make all necessary changes to airframe for proper cooling. Also first install new power plant back on test stand and run it for 40 hrs. before putting it back on aircraft.

    Landing Light: Wing or Nose?

I would install one or two LED landing light on front landing gear and one LED taxi light on movable part of front LG, so it's will turn and light the way where aircraft is turning.

Used to be minimum 60 hrs with not certified power plant.

Raptor has non steerable nose wheel. Peter purchase this front landing gear on Ebay, it's from Lancair IV aircraft and Peter modified it to fit Raptor.

    Interesating series on Russian aircraft

Farther development of LaGG-3 was La-5 where liquid cooled Klimov engine was replaced with more powerful radial air cooled AsH-82 engine.

Let say you "push" right rudder pedal, so left(and right to) winglet rudder will deflect to right. And because winglet,s have inward position, then left rudder will produce some additional lift on left wing, but right rudder will reduce lift on right wing and airplane will bank to the right.

    10/23 Raptor Video

Inward rudders make science - when they applied they caused bank in direction the "pedal" was moved.
