    Wainfan Facetmobile inspired drone delivery

It’s strange that the demonstration video doesn’t demonstrate many of the features touted- steep angle of attack, slow nadir, autonomous operation; we can only presume that the particular line on the ground released near was the target. Here’s a podcast with the CEO, Star Simpson...

It doesn’t seem so- I understand this to be licensed use by a third party.

    A real different FLying Wing

The narrator lost me when he said the the gunner took 2 20mm rounds to the chest. Sure, I can believe the guy was pulled from the wreckage alive- but the remainder tastes of fantasy.

In most cases- at control surfaces edges -they are just melted, as I recall. I slowed down this video, I think, for taking stills from- you’ll want to mute it:

    Busted

The real take away here is that they were NOT busted- the vehicle and pilot escaped... likely downwind.

What did you do on your airplane project today?

The interval was arbitrary, if ill considered. Likely the engine features indicators for cylinder head, exhaust gas, and water temperature to signal when such a test should end.

What did you do on your airplane project today?

A better answer would have been "I ran the engine at climb-out speeds and loading for 20 minutes, at 90f ambient air temperature, with a heat gun on the cowling reporting temperatures well below the tolerances declared by the resin manufacturer"- -or, you know, something like that.

Flight Club - Ultralight Build Log

Polymer bushings aren’t all that expensive, quantity considered- nor bolts -and spar or other related structure already requisite... so, where do you see remarkable cost?

    Single-seat ultralight puddlejumper: the "Carbonmax"

The builder says he molds the wave separately. It's also reported that some inflate a series of bladders. Here's a link out to a conversation: Introducing the Scirocco--All Molded, All Carbon Pitcheron - RC Groups

Could you point us in the direction of the construction method for the pictured elements? So, a solid foam core with only glass or carbon skin?

    What did I miss?

Ridge soaring a hang glider again, focus downward to the forest canopy, looking for signs of lift, unknowingly on a collision course with a redtail hawk coming from the opposite direction, also looking down, probably for something to eat. We both looked up at the same moment, eyes at the same...

fabric on ribs with huge spacing, doable?

Close examination of the Facetmobile in flight, as picture above, shows clear upward billowing of the top sail material. Barnaby reported sail scrubbing sounds at high angles of attack; leading edge vortices accelerate inboard airflow, reducing pressure. Reviewing circulation patterns of very...

    What did I miss?

Soaring at less than 80 feet over a ridge, had a helicopter pass directly under me in the same direction- less than 2 wing spans distance; looking down to see whirling blades was not fun. As passenger on a commercial jet into nighttime San Diego circa 1979, a fighter jet shot vertically past...
