Mazda Rotary - what are the issues to be overcome?

I spent over $16,000 on my 20B, before redesigning the air frame for a turbine engine.

    Small turbine engines.

There are turboshaft engines that have somewhat higher HSI intervals than typical turbojet/turbofan engines but I'm not aware of any comparable engine with a 6 - 7 times greater interval for similar cores. Nor can I think of any reason why there would be. A comparable hot section will be...

    B & C spline-driven exp. alternator

I own a B&C 28v spline driven alternator. It's mounted on an accessory drive pad of my GE T-58-8B. I had an adapter spline 3D printed using a material similar to what the alternator spline is made of. And I also had to fabricate an adapter plate. I have not however run the engine yet.

    Small turbine engines.

As others have pointed out in other threads, turbine engines do not scale down very efficiently. In no small part because of tip clearances. If I had the time and CNC resources, I've always thought a small twin spool turbofan with single stage centrifugal flow compressor would be an interesting...

    Pitts / aerobatics questions

I took a basic two day aerobatics course years ago, in a two seat Pitts. They didn't do anything in this video we didn't do, so I would say it's no more than mid level stuff. I honestly don't recall how many ailerons our plane had. For some reason I was thinking most of the later models had...

Lost art of technical drawing / drafting

I took mechanical drawing in high school, would have been around 1977 With the exception of an X-Plane model, all the drawings I have of my project I did myself on a board with pencil T-square etc.

Jay's Mazda 20B Engine Rebuild and Fan Test for Possible One-Off DF Design

I've been working on the engine side of the engine inlet mold The brackets for the MLG scissors along with assembling the wheels and brakes throwing together a simple jig of sorts to keep the engine exhaust nozzle parts aligned while I attach them And rough cutting the leading edge ply for the...

Electric pop rivet gun versus Air driven pop rivet gun, any suggestions ?

It worked The aircraft rivets I had intended to use would not fit the tool because of the ribs on the mandrel so I used the steel rivets that came with it.

Electric pop rivet gun versus Air driven pop rivet gun, any suggestions ?

In my case I cannot reach both sides of the rivet, hence the blind rivets

Electric pop rivet gun versus Air driven pop rivet gun, any suggestions ?

Thanks, but my space is essentially two corners 1/2" apart

Electric pop rivet gun versus Air driven pop rivet gun, any suggestions ?

I need to install some blind rivets at the base of a bracket but the bracket gap is only a 1/2" wide. Anyone know of a blind rivet tool with a 1/2" diameter nose and or some shop trick I could apply?
